Leg day vs running

Was doing single leg dead lifts Jan- April.
Loads of them!
Why?

I do lots of them but with a suspension trainer.
Haven't got the balance without it.
They’re tough like. Have you tried counterbalancing with a light plate held out in front of you? Holding my heel also helps when I do them.

Tbh I was only doing them as the gym wasn't open. One legged stuff, and quite a few sissy squats is all I've done since lockdown!
Back to doing squats and deadlifts now, and boy have I missed them!

When I think about it, it's not the balance. It's mobilty . No way can I get low enough with my leg stretched out! On the suspension trainer I can lean back a bit so able to do it with a good full range of motion. I'm working on mobility all the time, but sciatica means I struggle to raise my left leg anywhere near parallel with the ground!
They are good to do, especially when no gyms were open, but im glad to be lifting heavier stuff once more!
