I’m saying he cheated because he looked like he was going to let it go out then didn’tSorry, what?
This isn't about rules, it's about morals and sportsmanship
You’re forgetting Villa have their own refIt is a relatively new thing, it never happened when I played football.
How many times have you seen it at the SOL this season where players trying to see a game out go down and we kick the ball out from an attacking position and the game is restarted with a throw in then kick back to our keeper?
If a someone sees a seriously injured player and doesn't kick the ball out that would be on his conscience and I am sure any reasonable person would do it. However my point stands that it is the responsibility of the referee to stop a game not the players and a few years ago instructions were issued by FIFA and/or the FA to stop the practice and prevent cheating
Sorry mate I don't know why my previous reply turned like that, this is what I meant to type:What a tit. He should receive a suspension himself.
That said, what are the officials doing? They quite clearly did not see the incident properly, why then did they make a guess and send the lad off knowing players are trying to con them at every opportunity?
That's fine, but often the refs miss challenges that have caused a potential i jruy, thefore it's up to the players to put the ball put for their team mate or opposition player to receive treatment. It's not a new thing.
I’m saying he cheated because he looked like he was going to let it go out then didn’t
Ok?
Sporting behaviour, it'll never catch on.I don't see how anyone can condone it. Roberts slows down and motions like hes going to put the ball out before playing in Klich. Its not exactly sporting behaviour.
i would have no problems whatsoever scoring like leeds did there. why the fuck should you kick the ball out if someone on the other team injures themsevles
That's the point,......... with Leopards and LeedsIn what situation would you be trusting or not trusting a leopard exactly? Wouldn't they just eat you anyway?
I also agree that it’s creeping back in and there is at best uncertainty among the players which puts pressure on them. In this game Villa has put the ball out for a Leeds player though and it was when they themselves were attacking so they will have expected the reciprocal deal. To be honest I’m more pissed off with Janssen for not being able to man up and do as his manager had told him whatever he himself thought and Bamford for...well, cheating!I agree with you and I assume that's why the Leeds manager told them to give Villa a goal.
My point is that because it has now become custom and practice, unscrupulous players go down during passages of play that are potentially damaging to their team, to waste time or kill any momentum in games. A few years back, FIFA and the FA issued guidance to referees and clubs to stop this happening but it is now creeping back into the game. thee time or kill any momentum in games. A few years back FIFA and/or the FA issued guidance to referees and clubs to stop this happening but it is now creeping back into the game. The laws of the game state:
INJURIES
- allows play to continue until the ball is out of play if a player is only slightly injured
- stops play if a player is seriously injured and ensures that the player is removed from the field of play.
He slowed down definitely, but that's not the same as motioning. And he wasn't the left back, he's a forward.
Interesting
You think was not a goal then?
That’s kind of my point slowed down only due to villa not ref
I guess if he didn’t slow down then play would have continued as normal
I still think it’s a goal mind but I can see both views
I can also see both views. A player shouldn't put it out imo; leave it up to the ref and just get on with the game. However, if you suggest that you are going to put it out but then don't, that's clear unsporting behaviour.
Did he absolutely clearly said he would?
Even then I think I still back Leeds
Is the linesman who didn't flag for offside the same linesman who spoke to the ref for the red card?
Hasn't it been established that it wasn't offside?
