? They were all different though.
Johnson - streaks
Ross - draw every game nil nil
Parky - shite
Well I liked listening to him and thought about what he said. I thought he was honest in the main. Remember if we met over a pint which is what this thread is all about he wouldn’t be as restricted as we know him to be.I'd hate it. Whatever his merits as manager of Sunderland I found him pretty much impossible to listen to.
Reid, Smith, O'Neill and McCarrhy for me - not sure I could match Big Sam pint for pint on the wine
I really struggled with his jargon which he used to imply special knowledge - not revealed in his tactics when things went wrong. He did a lot right and I was really pleased with our start this season and thought he would be the one to get us up. I would be interesting to know what really happened. I definitely think the sacking was sudden and not all his fault, but a whole pint with him, at his speed, nah...!Well I liked listening to him and thought about what he said. He could enlighten us and cause all sorts of problems for our “ owners “
All hypothetical of course.
Seemed strange to me that Johnson couldn't see his own flaws. Then he should have looked for a solution which presumably would be to hire a really good defensive coach to work alongside him.Not hard to work out why really -
Johnson - Attack minded, positive football, but overly confuses it. When it work it tends to work quite well, when it doesn't it falls apart as there was little defensive structure and confidence wanes.
Ross - A bit dour. very much liked to keep it tight as a team and rely on runs from deep or one or two individuals with pace or flair to create openings.
Parkinson - Dour manager, direct style. Prefers hard graft and lumping it to a big man. Creativity comes only from graft and the odd bit of pace, hence it's generally hard on the eyes.
Various reasons why each ultimately failed.
I’d love to go for a pint with him. Imagine what he could tell us about our club ?
I’d even buy his beer.

Keane S money was never going to be matched. LJ might have just had enough of the useless set up he was working under and decided enough was enough. One of me mates sent me this:
Got a bit crack today. Apparently Johnson wasn’t happy about Defoe coming because he was going to be on more money than him which caused first rift but he said some things to maguire on the touch line which some of the players took real offence to and he subsequently lost the respect of the dressing room. Keane refused to come on money matters only. Offered less than half what he was on last time here and less than sky pay him. Can’t say it’s 100% correct but no reason to disbelieve it.
Back in the 3rd Division in 87, I bumped in to Dennis Smith coming out of a night club in Shrewsbury at 2am on a Saturday morning. I was hammered but I don’t think he was, 0-0 I seem to recall, not sure if Viv was with him too, think he might have been, but I was mongedIs the bust up regarding Defoe? Seems more than a bit odd for a manager to get steaming the night before.
Sorry for being thick, who‘s JCH?
Very interesting and believable. Johnson made an utter fool of himself with Maguire and allowed Maguire to get under his skin. As for Keane did he really think a L1 club was going to pay him big money? I know its not the popular view on here but I feel Keane may have messed us about. We would have been far better off if he hadn't shown any interest. One of me mates sent me this:

LJ was sacked - it wasn't him who decided enough was enough. If it was up to him he'd still be here trotting out his superficial nonsense at every available press conference.Keane S money was never going to be matched. Calm down man. There are stories that he was drinking the night before the game maybe and I repeat maybe he’d just had enough working for a calamitous regime and gave them no option.Very interesting and believable. I am calm. Lee Johnson's tenure at Sunderland played out just as was predicted by fans of his previous clubs. Why we would have expected otherwise was a bit silly. There is enough evidence from his 400 games as manager/head coach to show that he just isn't very good. Yes, he could get players playing decent football for a period but was so easily out thought by opposition managers. What you are suggesting - that he wanted out and gave them an option - is so far fetched that I am sure even you don't believe it.Calm down man.
