Loved his attitude I’m since day one but we are in league one with one of the best teams on paper. Good on him for turning us around though.

You won’t get people excited with the sort of football Parkinson played. Results are the most important yes, but so is a passionate fanbase. I guarantee more fans pay to watch us now which ultimately makes us stronger long term.

He may well have got us up, but he wasn’t the right manager.
Absolutely
Had that twat been half competent we would be pissing this league.

I guess if he had, he might not have been sacked, but even still, what a useless twat he was.
After the Swindon game we were 4th and both managers had an absolutely identical record with Johnson playing every bottom half team.

I think he's done fantastic to get us looking good for playoffs and in contention for top two. Remember the absolute mess he inherited? Plus hopefully a cup win for good measure.

Johnson has proved alot of doubters wrong (me included)..put it this way..
Johnson or Parky!!...Parkinson was just happy to have a job!...he, as a manager is a dinosaur!!..Johnson has come in and revitalized Sunderland, and has to be applauded for that!..just back the man and dont criticise him!!..he's doing a great job..how long is it that we've said that about a manager???🙄🙄

He’s proven nothing yet. Both of his predecessors have had runs like this in this division (just last season, the ‘dinosaur’ Parkinson went on a run of 12 games where we took 29 points, a PPG ratio that would have seen us pick up 111 points across a full season).

We’re on a good run playing less than totally convincing football at the minute. We’ve had some decent little spells in games and some anything but decent. Tuesday will give us a really good indication of where we’re currently at and we can start making claims about being proven right or wrong at the end of the season when it actually matters.

9/18. I assume we discount the PJ Trophy as no other manager (bar one) had the opportunity to bump their stats up with that.

50%
Huh? He’s played entirely against teams from our league in that tournament so far, why would you exclude those games?

Should we remove any cup game against lower league opposition from other managers stats, or do we accept that a manager can only beat the opposition that is in front of them and congratulate him on the good form so far?

I dont care, I dont go off statistics, I go off what I see with my own eyes.

The football is night and day compared to under Parkinson. Add into it his negative, droning voice in every interview. He was about as inspiring as having the shits.

Do the stats any way you like, he has a fine record but pretending it equates with managers at the top level is as meaningless as it is pointless.

Well said , seems like some people are just desperate to find anything negative against LJ , he’s doing a fantastic job , some will never be happy .

Ive watched nigh on every game this season and I really couldn’t genuinely say there’s been much difference in overall performance in a lot of the games. Today’s win and the other night’s wins were very, very similar (in style and substance) to the home wins against Crewe, Ipswich and Peterborough under Parkinson earlier in the season. We’ve been more consistent in the last month (similar to what it was like between Christmas and March last season) but the performance differences are marginal. McGeady being in the side with everything he brings probably makes it very fractionally more enjoyable.

Have I said anything factually incorrect in what you responded to?
