Lee congerton is the most important signing we've made for years.

This is a bit of an old-fashioned view. Can you say, in all honesty, that we wouldn't have been in this position anyway if Bruce / PDC / Poyet had been in charge of all signings? Our manager / head coach should be spending his time on getting the best out of the team he's got, not looking around at players he doesn't have. I would prefer someone who has a proven track record of identifying quality players, and who can dedicate his time / energy to ensuring they're right for this team.

As I've pointed out earlier........show me where it's working.

i realise that stats don't tell you the whole picture but we need an edge to succeed in any way shape or form, congerton is a stats man and this is what we need, di fanti didn't work but you have to give credit to Ellis short he's created something and is trying to execute a plan which doesn't just involve letting a manager go nuts with your money and often doesn't work.

whatever has happened this season and whatever happens going forward i think he deserves huge credit just for trying something new and not sitting idally by while smaller or similar clubs like Southampton and everton repeatedly outperform us and either produce or buy better talent than we have.
Hope he can play CF and score goals.

Bought his share of crap:
Bebe £7.4, Taibi £4.5, Bellion £3.0, Fangzhou £3.5, Berbatov £30.75, Djemba-Djemba £3.5, Obertan £3.0, Kleberson £6.5, Veron £28.o, Kagawa £17.0, Valencia £16.0, Zaha £15.0, Anderson £18.0 to name a few.
Crap? f***ing hell.
He finished premier league top scorer

Incredible how many think he was shit there. Joint top scorer when winning the League, 5 v Blackburn, hat-trick v Liverpool = shit

Veron was world class when he signed. I've still no idea what went wrong in England for him. Valencia has dipped but had a canny couple of seasons and Kagawa and Zaha have arrived just as Manu are falling apart. The rest were shite like but, on a whole, I would give Fergie the benefit of the doubt.
