Ofcourse we would, that wouldnt be insulting us

Exactly

Always makes me laugh when people seem to think SAFC are applicable to the same rules/moral compass as other clubs, by their own fans.

I.E. People excusing shit decisions against us, because of a shit decision that went for us earlier in the season or whatever ("You weren't moaning about shit referees when Catetrmole handballed on the line against Stoke" - of course I wasn't that helped SAFC, my team!)

I support SAFC, I'm biased, thats the whole nature of football support, I root for the success of one team at all costs.

I thought it was funny, to be honest.

The only downside was that he might have gone for less money because people knew we had to get rid.

In the end, he was no loss.

You are indeed correct but you will never convince the young uns...

You'll have to take my word for it. But......Have a look at the tapes of the times Ball played with Clark, Look at Bally's body language, the way he spoke to Clark, and the way Clark spoke with Ball.
We messed up big time because Reid and Ball got far too big for their boots. Ball was an automatic pick for Reid, notwithstanding he was crap and offered nothing to the side. Oh apart from being an incredible and inspirational leader on the field. Worth staring with 10 men I think.

How did we "mess up big time" because of this (if its true, I doubt it) by the way?

We went up, Clark was fucked off, Ball played about 5 games and then he left too. We went on to finish 7th twice without either of them.

Im not young and give me half a chance i would rip his f***ing pizza face right off and smear his blood all over the pavement

Robin, marra, can you post without resorting to personal insults please.

No, go fuck yourself you f***ing cabbage

You obviously don't understand the bitter hatred between the 2 clubs/sets of supporters.

Hahaha, I've lived in whitley bay since 1983 mate, about 75% of my mates and work colleagues support Newcastle. I think I understand thanks..

That's my point, Ball should have gone a long time before - he clung on to his position in the side at the expense of better players. Clark/Rae were by far the better midfield partnership (have a look at the stats) but Bally muscled in because of his unhealthy relationship with Reid. The sight of Bal's name on the teamsheet for those final two years made me so angry as he offered jack to the team.

f***ing idiotic crap

The Clark T-shirt affair happened over a decade ago back in the last millennium yet it is clear from the vitriol of some posters that they have been unable to move on from it. This only serves to indicate to us Mags that the incident really, really rattled you and I was certainly not expecting to be still getting a chuckle from it this far down the line.

It was a daft prank that's all. He had to go after it, of course, but the way some of you portray it you'd think he'd burgled an old wife and took a dump in her bloomer drawer. As Frasier Crane said, learn to let go.

Aye, cos we did so shit in those 2 years (97/98, 98/99), we only won practically every game at a canter, scoring tonnes of goals in the process

Well then you need to have a fuckin word with yourself. Geordies are great people and I love my mag mates to bits. Fuckin despise them on derby day tho and they would say the same thing about me. To say people who mix with Newcastle fans don't understand the hatred is something a 10yr old would say...
