League Cup win or Promotion

Which of these would you prefer if you could only have one this season?

As sick as I am of league one i'd love us to win something in my lifetime, I'd take the cup every time.

William hill has us at 150/1 so I know it aint gona happen but daretodream and all that

Wigan won the FA cup just 10yrs ago and are no better off...If we are to get back to some sort of top level football we need to get out of this league ASAP...

League cup, by a mile. Chance to actually see us win something, chance to get into Europe. Even if we get back to the PL the best we can probably hope for us a league cup and a run in Europe. Would attract better players if we're in europe, we'd make canny money for this level so, other than the squad size needed, I'd be very confident that we'd go up next season

Amazed to see people say promotion over league cup final. If the pinnacle of football is just to make up the numbers in the premier league then maybe, but this (hypothetical) achievement would instantly be one of the top moments in our history.

It’s not the cup the average football fan cares about.

All it would do is put our best players in the shop window, which in this hypothetical situation of us staying in League One, means losing them all.

I get what your saying, but in all honestly, I couldn't tell you who won it last year.. in reality Cup football is dying, it's all about top level football now...

Cup win everyday of the week. Football is about winning competitions. If we get promoted twice in a row our chances of winning the league are still next to non. A trophy and Europe far eclipse playing Everton at home for little reward. Say we get to 7th in the prem, we would then switch our attention to winning a cup and getting to Europe. Why wait?
