League 1 decision delayed again until next Tuesday now

9th of June.....players out of Contract 31st July, let the time slip leaves no time to complete, no doubt the clubs delaying are the ones who benefit, should have been given a deadline if they don't comply they lose their vote...
EFL are obviously happy for this to drag on....shit hooses....

BBC seem to think a lot of players are out of contract on the 30th of June. Making it that if we were to restart on the 20th of June we would have 10 days to play out the season. If the play offs happen then that will also need playing in them 10 days, and it's impossible. It will end up a points based league position decision and the play offs played before the 30th.

Itll be teams like Wycombe and Coventry just dragging their heels for aslong as possible to ensure the season is ended on PPG and they get their promotion/playoff spots. It is farcical really! The league should have a backbone and say everything needs to be done by 'this' date and if yours isn't in then you have lost your chance to vote!
Wycombe are fucked according to sky

the delay is from the clubs not the EFL this time...certain clubs havent got their papers back to the EFL for decisions to be made. By all accounts the EFL need 5 clear days when all papers have been received

Edit.....latest from TS it is the EFL's fault as they havent sent the paperwork out to the clubs yet!

Its the clubs that need 5 days to decide

Their chairman reckons they'll lose 2.5 million due to Covid (increasing the more games they have to play behind closed doors). Furloughed staff unlikely to be kept on once the scheme ends, on loan right back already heading back to Millwall as they can't afford to pay him.

A lot of other clubs will be in a similar position.

If it comes down to a vote it will obvioulsy end. Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe will vote for it for obvious reasons, also everyone from Burton in 12th down to Wimbledon in 20th as they either have nothing to play for or want to avoid relegation, which amounts to 12 of 23 clubs.......

And yet they'll find a way to play in the playoffs. Bet if PPG had them sitting in 8th instead of 3rd they'd be voting to play on.

Paperwork? Thought it was a vote? Absolute shambles

Peterborough owner was on ssn about 30 mins ago saying they will still be discussing the outcome at Christmas:lol:

He gets a lot of stick but he’s correct in everything he says on this matter tbh. Letting clubs vote on their own self interests was only going to end one way unfortunately, decision should have been taken out of their hands

I think the decision to continue the championship (which has caught a few off guard) has opened u a massive can of worms and now most in L1 will be saying ‘if they can, why can’t we?’
