  • Kell Brook (36-1-0 25 KO's) defends his IBF Welterweight Title tonight against Errol Spence Jr (21-0-0 (18 KO's) in what is seen as a genuine 50-50 fight on paper, although Spence appears to be the slight betting favourite. There are so many unknowns about this fight which make this so intriguing, the big one for Brook being about how his right eye will fare after getting his socket broken by Golovkin last time out however he looked in absolutely superb nick at the weigh-in yesterday which appeared to put pay to any doubts in regard to his ability to make 147. As for Spence, he's been widely touted as the next P4P sensation by the Americans for some time now and whilst he has looked very impressive so far there is no doubt that this is a huge step up for him and it'll be interesting to see how he handles the away crowd
  • The chief support sees George Groves (25-3-0 18 KO's) get his 4th, and surely his last, chance of earning a world title as he faces Fedor Chudinov (14-1-0 10 KO's) for the vacant WBA Super Middleweight Title. On paper this is a fight that Groves probably should win, probably on points, and it would be very difficult to see a way back for him if he loses tonight. Hopefully he does the business as there are some huge domestic fights to be made with the likes of Callum Smith, Chris Eubank Jr, and most significantly, a rematch with James DeGale
  • In Stateside news, Michael Conlan picked up his 2nd professional win in the early hours of this morning and will be fighting on July 2nd next on the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn undercard

Possibly Seb but BBC iPlayer have a canny series on the mcguigans. Mainly based around Frampton and other boxers they have.

Fight game: The mcguigans.

Really enjoyed that. Frampton is my favourite active fighter by a mile at the minute and I really rate Josh Taylor anarl, providing that he has a decent chin and has the stamina to go 12 rounds I can't see him losing against Davies.

Eubank Jr vs Abraham on ITV Box Office on July 15th  Whilst Abraham is a step up on the opponents he's been fighting lately Eubank's opponents since Saunders have done absolutely nothing to develop him as a fighter. He's going to be woefully under-prepared to deal with anybody who uses the slightest bit of lateral movement.

A shame really because there is a talented fighter in there but they clearly have zero interest whatsoever in fighting anyone with a pulse.

Box office...ffs

How much are these twats charging for daft bastards like me.

Avtandil Khurtsidze arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit wire fraud as part of an FBI investigation into Russian and Georgian organised crime. Could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted

Fight off then?

Official line is that it's postponed for now but it sounds like there's next to no chance that Khurtsidze will ever fight again professsionally.

Looking at the latest WBO rankings Willie Monroe Jr is at #5, if they do get a late replacement he wouldn't be too bad at all.

Saunders now off the card altogether. It'll be coming up to 2 years since he won the title by the time he makes his 2nd defence, admittedly he can't really be blamed in this instance but his title reign has been a shambles.

As utterly ridiculous as it sounds, the theory that Sammartino got the fighters mixed up is the only plausible explanation for that.

Not (too) often I'll be rooting against a British fighter, but would be very disappointed if Zeuge didn't win tomorrow night.

On a side note, that Eubank - Abraham full card is looking excellent. PPV obviously, but some very good fights on it.
