Just rewatch the fight for the first time since Saturday, the champion walking first made me want the challenger to get beat, the Saudi national anthem made me want to turn it off completely wrong.

As for the fight Joshua was scared and hesitant from the first jab and backhand landing within 30 seconds, his feet stopped moving with him into attacks and away with him in defence, he panicked into not setting up attacks and was throwing naked back hands and lost his head at the end of the first round quite literally how he didnt see that shot coming was unbelievable.

That was a worse performance than Ruiz 1 for me and he’ll never have imagined getting such a battering in his career ever.

He should hope and pray for Wilder/Bakole/Fury next and stay the hell away from Dubois or simply retire
Did you hear that Shane mcguigan analysis of double jab and upper?

What really impressed me was how quickly Dubois could close the gap with single shots. It was something he was punished for repeatedly against Hrgovic.

He's no flat footed plodder and his foot speed compared to say Joyce, is night and day. However to close the gap effectively with single shots like that was very, very impressive

Any source on that? Eddie seemed to imply he did on the night. I mean, it sounds bonkers for a challenger to get a rematch clause, but it was certainly DDD's biggest purse to date, so I can see why he would do it.

He actually doesn’t. AJ’s contract is x amount of fights under the Riyadh season banner which could be a rematch.

The Saudis need to throw the money at DDD if they want a rematch good on him he’s in big money stuff now

When the short right hand knocked AJ out, the irony was it would've been much harder for Dubois to do in there specific moment had he been trying to catch AJs double jab as he came in. Bigger issue at the time of the stoppage was that once AJ caught Dubois, he just steamed forward throwing successive right hands. Back hand uppercut with no set up, after coming forward with successive right hands... probably the worst thing he could've thrown at that moment.

McGuigan is a quality coach. His attention to detail is top, top level. He is also a very good runner! Belted out a half marathon in 1:20 the other weekend.

His feet were so much better than Joshua mate, changed his patterns and rhythm up really well and had Joshua being clueless as to what to do with his feet or his hands or his head or just anything !

Ruiz was being handled before a temple shot and a concussion, Dubois just outboxed him, was stronger than him, more confident than him and just bloody wanted it more

I always thought the AJ rebuild was no good until it was tested by a strong opponent in body or skill and Dubois proved that beating his last 4 opponents meant nothing for AJ so who’s to blame for those opponents falsely building his confidence up ? Hearn, Joshua, Davison

He should have been put in with Ruiz again or someone that had previously pushed and tested him, giving him a few easy KO’s allowed him to try that uppercut in the 5th with no jab or set up cause he thought he’d got him and forgot his attacking and defensive basics, really really poor.

Someone else might be able to remember - was it a lead right uppercut that he landed on Wlad?

I’m not on tiktok but its just the first search result looking for the ring walk stumble of Joshua at the weekend
Nerves or something more ?!?
I called it out at the time. He looked like someone pretending to be focussed, but actually being in a very different state under the cover

Isn't this pretty much his career apart from Klitschko. Walks through lesser fighters but lack of skills finds him out at the top.

Not sure what else he could do though won four fights, either keep milking the diminishing cash cow, or gamble on winning a seat at the top table again.

100% has been proven to be the case yeah, Wlad was old, aside from that his biggest challenge in Usyk he won 3/4 rounds out of 24 and his strongest challenge in Dubois decked him 5 times in 5 rounds

Did anyone see this clip of Joyce off the weekend ?

Frightening

I mentioned it at the time. Was like his brain stopped working. He did speak again after and say he was overwhelmed.

He it may have just hit him that only a few years ago he stopped Dubois (and Parker) and yet somehow they've got on to be champions/contenders and he's losing to shot Chisora. So close yet so far.
