Latest boxing crack

He'd definitely be a miss to the current mix for most fans I reckon.
Done more for the sport than any british boxer since Lennox

Calzaghe was immense but boxing increased in size and viewership because of him

Hatton the same, he made all of Manchester into boxing not all the country

Fury made every traveller and a few more watch it

Joshua has brought so much more than that !

I want him to win tomorrow for the sake of it showing Fury for what i’ve long argued he is but we’ll see

I don't see how a fighter with the ability to beat another fighter cheapens the sport. Just means that person is a good fighter with transferable skills. I'd be interested to see Jake Paul fight a top end boxer. Canelo for example.

As for Paul v Canelo He could get killed, seriously. Would be over within seconds.

Well exactly. Which shows that ngannou isn't here just for the dough. He appears to be a reasonably good boxer having fought the current best in the world. We shall see tomorrow.
Ngannou been a champion at combat sport and is an absolute monster. Jake Paul’s career has been sitting at his computer on a microphone. I think there is a difference in pedigree and quality.

I agree. If the chancers get ironed out it brings more quality to the sport, not less.

Of course it cheapens the sport, he shouldn't be able to compete with the worlds top heavy weight boxers, their skill should show through and they should look many classes above. That's if the skills of top boxers are as good as we're made to believe, that's the thing it's throwing into doubt.

Well he has. He took fury the distance. Maybe it's boxing that just has a high opinion of itself.?

Yes I agree. Maybe it is, we're always told about the art of boxing and these boxers being masters of their craft etc maybe it is a myth. I do think though as you mentioned above at lower weight classes with people like Canelo etc this wouldn't be replicated and you'd clearly see a high difference in skill set.

For sure. Power matters less than technique at heavyweight. You get clipped you are going down. I'm very much looking forward to the undercard.

NGannou is a big strong bloke who was very patient and non flinchy. Fury thought he was getting paid a fortune for an easy nights sparring and put on a stinker.

I think AJ will show that elite MMA and elite boxing, generally should stay to their own sport for good reason. I can't see anybody in boxing underestimating NGannou again and I can't see him having the broad fundamental skillset or experience required to win.

I mean he's 7/2 for a reason. Still think he does aj over.

Heavyweights are big boys and very little is definitely known about NGannou aside from his toughness and power. Bookies hardly going to offer fantastic odds on him and risk huge pay outs.

I honestly just see AJ picking NGannou off all night.

Worth remembering that Fury took Ngannou lightly and came in looking a mess, without really training.
He got caught cold due to underestimating and then when Ngannou was tiring, Fury didn’t have the conditioning he normally would to manage the fight at that point. He got very lucky in getting the decision, but a fully fit and conditioned Fury, who took the fight seriously, would have comfortably won in my opinion.

I'm not sure he will because I don't believe AJ is a very good boxer with a particularly high skill set, if anything before both fights I'd have backed Nganou more against AJ than Fury.

Love how much of a pass Fury is given for having an off day or underestimating N’Gannou

Its entirely possible that fighting a tougher opponent than the likes of Whyte, Wilder and Chisora even after a proper camp shows Fury’s level more accurately ….. but no it was an off day

How Joshua deals with N’Gannou and then how Usyk deals with Fury will finally prove what level Fury is at

Wasn't it scheduled to be an exhibition until fairly close to the fight? I think it's a fair assessment given Fury's history of putting in stinkers against people he doesn't fear. Could of course be proven wrong. I thought Fury was going to totally outbox him, but he looked terrible.

AJ doesn't have the most varied skillset, but what he is skilled at, he's very efficient with.

No mate it was always scheduled as a proper bout just without the belt on the line, I think in the main people just presumed it was an exhibition, Frank and Tyson talked it up as being a proper game changing fight from the start
