Latest boxing crack

Ive never really rated Fury, aside from that one night in Germany. I expected him to get beaten comfortably that night, but he boxed better than I had ever seen him box, and Vlad boxed worse than I'd ever seen him... and Fury got the deserved decision.

The rest of his career hasn't exactly been impressive though IMO. Who else has he fought who was genuinely world level? Steve Cunningham? Christian Hammer? Chisora? Not exactly names that would have AJ, Wilder, Povetkin etc, concerned.

That night in Germany may have been the night the stars all aligned in a one off performance. In typical Fury style we may never know... as he has possibly thrown it all away outside of the ring following that fight, and has put him back to the point that he is having to start again fighting absolute no hopers. IF he ever gets back to world level again, we will see if he can pick up where he left off.
Who other than Ortiz has wilder fought?
Povetkin got battered off kilt.
Joshua is certainly building a CV but the best win on his record is the Same as fury’s.

Agree with this, August 18th fury will get put in with someone I’d imagine bigger and a natural heavyweight but he will still be a no hoper bouncer who we’ve never heard of. The likes of even David Price would be to much of a risk after last night.

Whyte gets in the ring tomorrow and beats Fury! Imo

Not convinced with that either. He arguably lost to Chisora who a novice and in nearly as bad shape as last night fury took the piss out of.
Whyte has beat no fucker at all.

You can say that with most boxers in any division till they get to the top, he's been out for ages, never even made a title defence and the belts got scattered.
Joshua has done 33 rounds in his last 3 fights, not exactly blowing higher level opponents away.
That's how boxing works.

Whyte looked good against Browne in his last fight, whilst I agree with you about chisora, whyte still beat him records show, whyte showing great signs of potential for me who’s working hard and will make it imo, wilder is ducking him with the backing of the wbc because he’s worried about him and whyte now fighting Parker (for the record I agree with the it’s not a PPV fight band wagon going around), shows whyte is wanting to fight the best out in front of him.

Whyte is game but is bang average mind. Browne is absolutely hopeless and Chisora gave him hell.
I’d say fury would do the same job on Whyte that he did on Chisora even now. People getting themselves in a right state over last night. He took the piss and stopped a bloke who took a fringe title contender the distance, this after losing 7 stone and being inactive for 2 and half year.
He couldn’t win last night really.

I remember being mocked after Joshua Parker on here for slating Fury.

He looked light years away from that level tonight blokes finished as a top fighter.
Why the fuck would you be slating fury after AJ / Parker fight ?
Bizarre

Last night was pointless to watch, I love Fury, glad he’s back, but I didn’t bother to watch it as it was obvious to anyone that it’s just a go back in the ring to try and get his range and movement.
1000 days out of the ring, the bout did what it was supposed to.
Need a step up in the next one , and then see where he’s at for the one after that.
It’s good to have him back though

I’m not saying fury won’t get back to world level again I just think it will take time and he’s not ready to get in with anyone of the calibure now. I do rate whyte mind, see how his career pans out tho, I could be wrong on him who knows. Just out of interest who would u like to see fury fight August 18th?

It'll not happen, especially with Fury being chief support to Frampton, but I'd really like to see him fight Price next. Even at this stage it should be a pretty comfortable win for Fury but Price still has enough power to pose a threat and it'd be a very easy sell promotion wise.

Price should be retired.

That's a fair post. Unlike many anti fury ones

Sam sexton is a good shout, Dave Allen was asked in Twatter if he’d fight fury he should no because of the respect he has for him, I’d love to see him fight price I don’t think will though as I think price might be still to dangerous at this stage. Imo it’ll be a nobody like seferi but someone bigger and more of a natural heavyweight.

I personally don’t think fury or his team frank warren and co would want it I think they’ll see it as a threat however I do agree would be a fight I’d want to see him in. Like bellew would be a fight I’d see fury winning comfortably however same again a dangerous opponent at this stage.

It wouldnt even be close, Fury will not be taking dangerous fights like this any time soon......The reason Fury "retired" as soon as he won the World Title was he knew he would probably lose the next fight. Not in the same league as the top guys now, not even close.

Aye. Crawford hugely impressive once again however it also illustrated just how little Pacquiao has left going off his performance against Horn and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets sparked by Matthysse in a few weeks.

Agreed.

Really looking forward to seeing Crawford against the likes of Spence.

Looked poor last night all things considered. Looked very labored, wasn't cutting the ring off or working the body. Long time out of the ring, but hopefully with thetrelative low age it happened at should let him recover. Still more weight to shed, more rounds to spar and more confidence to gain back in his own ability.

One thing about Fury though, is that he's often boxed to the level of his opponents. It's frustrating, but just how he is.
