Whyte has progressed a lot more than Joshua has since their 1st fight. I'd be putting my money on him without a doubt
How has he developed by struggling past Povetkin, Chisora and Parker ?!? Fighting the same old slughfest while looking knackered after 6 rounds ?!?

He has progressed mind. Not as much as some seem to give him credit for but he was Brit/Euro level then really

Won a decision v Parker, same as Joshua.
Ko'd povetkin and chisora, hardly struggled, was breezing povetkin the qst time till he got caught with something that would have flattened a bear.
1st time these 2 met whyte had fought no one of note and had Joshua in serious trouble. Joshua is now terrified to throw incase he gets hurt again

Struggled against Povetkin might be the worst post of the 1712 pages of this thread. It was absolute 1-way traffic, it was borderline uncompetitive mauling, the loss was 1-way traffic too until Povetkin hit a counter upper from the gods.

Don't think he's watched it like😂

Povetkin was setting him up for that shot all night tbh. He hurt Povetkin not long before the stoppage, but Povetkin was lining him up for it all night with great punch selection and self restraint not to let the uppercut go until Whyte was lulled in to the false sense of security.

Rematch he battered him. First fight Povetkin out thought him and doesn't get sufficient credit for it.

You sure you were watching the same fight also? :D

Povetkin was knocked down twice, stumbling all owa like a gadgie stumbling out of Passion back in the day, and out of nowhere slips the punch which was meant to finish him once and for all and counters with a lead uppercut which would turn a man into a giraffe.

There was ne luck, ne outhinking, none of that nonsense.. It was a bloke who was literally on his last legs with last roll of the dice and got it.

Funny how "replying on one shot" get derided as being one dimensional and lacking in a boxing brain when it doesn't come off.

But when it lands, "he was setting him up for it, very clever"

He was looking for it aye. He was still all over him up until then. He had him badly hurt a few times.
Boxing innit, not a heavy bag

Joshua is terrified to throw yes because he doesnt trust his ability to take a shot but at the time they fought the first time he’d had less amateur fights and comparably few decent opponents on his record, yet he KO’d Whyte never mind being in serious trouble !

as for Whyte i say struggled with Povetkin because i dont think he thinks much through his fights as its been said Povetkin was looking to to set that shot up and Whyte was too happy to be too confident in how he was up in the fight and got lazy and got ko’d ! Aye 90% of the time in both fights he was in control but that doesnt take away one of the KO’s of the year he got !

Yes mate. Posted it on here that Whyte needed to watch the uppercut as it was obvious what the game plan was.

He was setting him up for it though. Anybody who watched enough of Povetkin and how methodical his approach is knows this.

Nonsense. From during the fight:

Needs to keep doubling jab. Povetkin setting him up for uppercut on inside

What did Whyte get complacent and do? Cover up and let Povetkin close the distance easily.

Don't/didn't disagree with that. I just think people overlook the fact that Povetkin deliberately didn't throw one of his best shots and then act surprised when he knocked Whyte out when he finally did
