Question for the purists

how good was De La Hoya? He lost to Pacq, Mayweather, Trinidad, Mosley (twice) and Hopkins. And beat Chavez, Quartey, Whitaker, Gatti and Camacho.

A legitimate great fighter at his mid-late 90s peak IMO. The Ring had him as their #1 P4P fighter at some point around that period.

Should have got the decisions against Trinidad and Mosley in their 2nd fight as well.
See Saunders has withdrawn from the running to face Canelo in September. Couldn't be arsed to keep himself in shape during lockdown by the sounds of it

Way past his best for the Pac and Mayweather bouts...……..should have chucked it in after he was gifted a decision against Sturm. If memory serves he was burning the candle at both ends towards the end of his career,

As you say, probably top 3 P4P in his pomp....
