Last years playoff contenders

Amazing how crap all are doing. Whilst we haven’t progressed as we hoped aside from WBA we are still doing better then the others.

Coventry have been poor. Boro look very inconsistent. Preston had a good start but have now picked up 1 point and scored only 1 goal in 4 games. Millwall have gone from throwing it away on the final day to a relegation battle.

If I was a Coventry or Boro fan I think I’d be most frustrated.

Cov lost their 2 best players but had an amazing opportunity to rebuild. A new owner that allowed them to reinvest every penny and they look like they have wasted 40 million. I see them quite regularly because my BIL has a season ticket and 20 million on Simms and Wright is criminal. They were saved last night by O’Hare who is a great player (Up there with Gyorkess and Hamer) but was injured last season. New players look shite for what they have spent.

Boro had a slow start last season and looked the most likely to carry momentum into this and also look like they have gone backwards.

We’ve not been great but still fairing better then the others

There’s absolutely nothing in the league apart from the top two and maybe a couple of others. Anything can happen yet.

I think this division is stronger than last season, not much separating 5th wba and 15th Coventry imo, anyone in there could get top 6 I believe.

Coventry & Boro heavily relied on Gyökeres & Akpom, respectfully, to score the bulk of their goals last season, and they haven't adequately replaced those players, so haven't progressed this season.

We didn't rely on a forward, as we were missing Stewart for most of the season, but we've certainly missed Diallo's input this season, just as we'll miss Clarke's input if & when he eventually leaves us.

Boro and Coventry are only 3 and 5 points away from us with over half a season still to play. Those teams mentioned could easily put a run together and get up there in the play off mix. Every season there is one team who do just that, whilst another one fades away. I’m going to say Boro will be that late team pushing on and Ipswich dropping out of the top 2 with the likes of Leeds and now Southampton hitting form taking that slot from them.

Coventry just got probably their best player back. O’Hare is very good but been injured for ages.

Top 4 will be Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton and Leeds in whatever order.

They're already pulling away now.

Leaves 2 playoff spots for the rest of us to fight over.

He is a great player. Most Cov fans seem to rate him as high as Gykoress and Hamer but was out last year. They would have been quite formidable if he had been fit alongside the other 2.

But thats my point. He scored 2 last night from midfield to help them beat a poor Birmingham side. New players were largely ineffective. What a waste of 40 million.
