What should my stratedgy be? I'll be taking some money that I'm prepared to lose but I'm not much of a gambler so need to work out what would be best for me to play? Blackjack, poker, craps?

Any ideas

Blackjack and Roullette.

Keep all your winnings in one pocket and stake in the other, when the stake pocket is empty call it a day and see how much you have in winnings pocket.

You'll find your money goes a bit further playing roulette, the smaller casinos as well the gambling chips cost a bit less,i was there four year ago and in Caesars the chips were $5 and you had to put a minimum $20 on each spin,so five spins no win you've lost $100,you can get $2 chips in the smaller casinos.

Mate the blackjack tables are the cheapest option to get yer toes wet. The cheapest table was at the belagio $5 min. Its a great way to start, plus you order as much drink as you can (paying the waitress is an option like a dollar tip as were british) If you want to play poker stay of the tables as you will haemorrage cash, if you really want to play get yourself in a tournament for a round $100. We played at the mirage lasted about 6 hours.

Craps and roulette if your a highroller or love giving away money.

When i went in dec, i actually fininshed about $600 up for the weekend, mainly playing blackjack. Remember play as a team (sticking on low numbers when one of youse has a good hand, also dont hit willy nilly, taking the dealers bust cards) on the table to gang up on the dealer.

Poker. Be prepared to stand up and walk if you lose the amount you set yourself. Only play cards that you have and not what you might get.
Good luck and enjoy.

I liked playing Sic Bo when I was over there but the only place I seen it was New York New York and it wasn't always open.

If you haven't got a clue then roulette(or Sic Bo if you can find it) is probably best if you haven't got a clue because there's no skill involved.

Games are dead soft in Vegas with all the tourists. Can be a cheap way to get pissed as well pay a $ for a drink everytime the waitress comes round. There will be local pros in the room but you can normally spot them and a lot of time they will be playing in the bigger game.

If you dont know poker just play perfect strategy blackjack its the game with the lowest percentage of house edge.

If you want a cheap way to get pissed sit on a table with one of those big wheel of fortune things. They take forever so you don't actually have to spend that much. I spent ages sitting at one down Fremont street, the booze was constantly flowing and the Hawaiian bird that was dealing was fantastic

Black jack and roulette for me. Plenty of low stake tables around ($5-$10 minimum), you can play roulette for ages like that. People say it is chucking cash away but if you're on holiday with a set amount to gamble with a day then it can be a good option if your not major serious.

Risky, but if you get lucky you can make a fortune for very little. I turned $40 into around $500-$800 one night (don't know the exact amount as I played for hours and drank a fair amount, cocktail waitresses are quality in the middle of the night/early morning). Most nights I was out until at least 6 or 7am.

I tried loads of different games and had a great time, don't take it too serious and you will be fine. The sportsbooks are good fun also.

Good post, and this is the danger when you're there, you've got smart as fuck cocktail waitresses giving you free drinks, you're in Vegas,it all adds up and it's easy to get carried away, you can lose $200-300 in a few minutes, sort your money out before you go,stick to your budget.

Very true, i was doing good until about four in the morning at poker then got too pissed, my normal game went out the window. Part of the waitresses job is to get people pissed.

I used to do ok on the roulette, but like you say 3-4 in the morning free booze and busty cocktail waitresses is a bad (for you) combination.

Yeh, one night I blew about $200.00 in the space of two minutes. Stumbled out of Tabu in MGM and the table was about 15 yards away  Wasn't too bothered as was up from earlier in the night but shows how quick it can go. I always had a set amount out with me and would tend to save my gambling till late after a few bits when I first went out. That way I couldn't overspend. Earlier in the night gambling was mainly for a couple of drinks more than anything, as the others would be playing.

Far more to Vegas than gambling anyway, took me a few days to get into swing of it.

Edit: Right about the hookers as well, hanging around hotel bars. Some of them were rank wanting hundreds of dollars, I wouldn't have for free with some of them.
