Las Vegas

Sit at one of the slots, put $20 in and occasionally gamble $1 (I usually do it on the roulette machines betting red or black), as you’re gambling you can then get a beer for $1 (tip to the waitress). If you’re cautious, after a few beers you can withdraw your $20 and basically had beer at a $1 per pint.

If you’re there over a weekend, it’s well worth a trip down to Fremont St, cheaper beer, live music and the atmosphere can be amazing. The ceiling show is well worth seeing too.
Fuck that. I’ve seen people do it but you’ve gone all the way to Vegas to spend hours in front of a screen? It’s vegas man, it’s the second best place on Earth (imo)

No bother walking too and from Freemont Street late on or would you recommend taxiing it?
It’s further than it looks
At the end of the old town (closest to the strip) it’s the pawn shop. So I never walked any further than that (and I had a gun)

especially when you can buy 2 litre cans of coors for $2 a 2 minute walk away.

Sheeeesh.. who could be arsed to go to Vegas and do that.

Just woke up its 08-00.

Depends what you want and where your staying.

You can eat at foodcourts on the strip and prices are not too bad. Buying beer in casinos your looking at 8 dollars a can. I was in a place last night and they were charging 16 dollars a can

16 dollars a can???

You can normally get free drinks if you're playing, and even if you're not playing they often have a "loss leader" bar where you can get certain beers for 1 or 2 dollars in the hope you will then get drunk and play in the casino

The 16 dollar cans were at a show, but average was 8 dollars and looking back that was almost a year now. Bit cheaper down the old town like

If I go with the boys I take $1000 per day basically. The first time was class. I won $2500 so I actually spent nothing  never had a time like that since
He just chilled in the pool for a week. Luckily they were all inclusive but he had to get more cash for tipping and that. The other lads went skydiving, shooting and all sorts. IIRC he put a grand on roulette, one spin and lost. Then spent the rest on cocaine and getting into clubs and shit. f***ing mental

So he had a great time then

I always jump in here when I'm in Vegas. It's about 100m from the strip so easy to walk to. The $2 beer is true, but they also do long happy hours when it's just $1 a bottle. I sh*t you not. You can struggle for seats during the day, but you should be alright. It's nice and quiet too compared to the strip so it's decent to spend a couple of hours in. It's quite popular with the "locals" too so go there at night if you fancy meeting some interesting characters. I watched two hookers fighting over some bloke the last time I was there. Class.
@andysafc85 are we going here?

Wicked Spoon Buffet in Cosmopolitan - thank me later.
Gamble and drink in Casino Royale as its cheap and good fun.

Wicked Spoon isn’t that good now , it’s often included in room deals and free with the player points card and quality has suffered but there was a great deal on the bacchanal buffet at Caesars on groupon or similar when we went recently that gave you first queue jump and that was a lot better . The Sterling brunch for $100 ish is canny if you want to get wrecked on decent champagne but again the food isn’t that great.

Casino Royale is always good for a visit , used to be $1 muchelobs but $2 there and cocktail service is good there - tip to get decent spirits as the bog standard vodka is proper gut rot stuff. The cash machine is cheap in there too and their player card is worth signing up for too - think they give you your first $20 loss back

Recommendations from recent trips

Use Lyft , there’s loads of deals around for free rides when you join but beware of surge pricing

Brunch at the border grill , unlimited small plates to order and mimosas - great authentic Mexican scran. The one in Caesars closed the day after we went but if you’re south strip it’s worth a visit in Mandalay bay

Cut of the week at Charlie Palmer , think it’s bout $60 for three courses plus wine - again south strip though but taxi worth it

Tasting menu at china poblano in cosmopolitan , get the matching drinks for the salt air margherita alone - it’s amazing and the overall meal was best we had last trip , faultless

Chandelier bar in Cosmo , ask for a verbena cocktail , it’s off menu but worth it to try the buzz button

Don’t bother with Hell’s Kitchen it’s very average for the money

Aterlier de joel robouchon in MGM very reasonably priced set menu in a high end setting , sit at the bar and watch the food being prepped but it can be a bit intimidatingly upscale

Spanish tasting menu at Jaleo in Cosmo - cracking atmosphere and food but go in hungry , by the end we were so ready for them to stop bringing out more food

Burger at in and out has to be done - topper

Go to the bar that’s outside as you enter the mirage and get the sharing volcano cocktail - lethal

Eat on the terrace at mon ami gabi , great location for people watching and view of fountains at belagio if you go in the evening - the warm baguettes they give you are perfection but more recently it’s been brunch visits vs evening meals

If you like Thai food take a Lyft to lotus of Siam - it looks nowt from outside just a strip mall place but the food is incredible

Think that’s it for now - bollocks I wasn’t going to book for next year but writing this has made me really need to visit again !
