Ralf Rangnick will undoubtedly get linked. He gets linked with every job ever. He's like our version of Robbie Keane, but on a global level. Probably running for German PM post Merkel.

He lost the dressing room. You dont survive that in the modern game. It's generally how Mourinho gets sacked. Once you lose 18 players on over £100,000 a week, you're pretty much a dead man walking. Add to the fact he spent so much money and didnt improve the spine or structure of the side, then that was it for him. We all want our heroes managing our clubs, but when does it ever work out? Rarely does an ex-player go back and do a Zidane.

Frank to the toon army
That's exactly where he'll end up. Cockney wanker = check. "It's a big club, with a big stadium, it's got potential to be a top 4 side" shite = check. "great fans base, they dont turn on their managers (LOL)" = check. Sacked by April when they are in the bottom 2 = check.

I wonder what happened for him to “lose the dressing room”.

Worst thing Lampard done is tried to spend big money. He was building a very good young English side then abandoned it all in favour of so called superstars. How has that worked out Frank?

I don't know the ins and outs at Chelsea, but im assuming it wasn't frank that picked the transfers. I'm sure Chelsea have a structure in place regardless of the manager?

He wasnt loyal to the players who he had last year (due to the transfer ban), and the players who came in and under performed for him have no loyalty to him and needed someone to blame. He had no idea how to balance the dressing room. He's very much a child of Mourinho. Its never Lampards fault.

He's gotta point like - nee offence @Swindon On Tour.

If we all “followed” the quality model we would all sign up to the SKY or BT football packages. I guess Chelsea still feel they can compete with the big clubs again hence the sacking.
Football has changed with the times and clearly has left me behind. Just want to get back to Supporting my club again. Never miss an I follow game but not the same.
I guess the only positive is not having to drive back 2 to 3 hours after been beaten at the likes of Rochdale. I can hit the drink during and after a game that helps numb the pain :)

Aye, he's a bit of a twitchy fucker RA.

It works, generally. Worked for us for ages, has worked for them too. Problem is it just keeps putting off strategic stuff for ages, because short-term managers with short-term objectives, don't address long-term issues. You pay for that in the long-run eventually - we did. Of course "paying" for them looks different - they just have to throw cash at it. And they do.

I dunno your background beyond you being (I think) a Thames Valley Swindon supporter, but I suspect like many of us you had no choice in the matter. It's just the luck of the draw when you're born and bred into it. You're stuck with Swindon just like we're stuck with Sunderland. I'd have it absolutely no other way - I suppose a least we've been lucky enough to have spent so long at the top table. That doesn't make our current plight any easier though.
