In some ways it seems harsh, in that you'd think you'd want to give a young manager time to grow and learn. That being said he was only given the Derby job because of his reputation as a player, he then did an incredibly average job, and only got the Chelsea job because of his history with the club. So in many ways he was lucky to be there in the first place. Nowt wrong with him taking the gig, anyone would do it, but he'll have known that it's the kind of place where you need to be doing well throughout. If he wanted a job where he could grow he could have stayed where he was, so he can't really have any complaints. Be interesting to see where he goes next
Ha Ha ya first sentence GG our club dont give time for a change of toilet roll

Seems strange, not sure what they were expecting appointing a young unproven manager, was always unlikely to go there and be fantastic in the short term.
I think they were expecting the latter part of your post tbh. No idea why they expected it from Lampard though.

Sky Sports studios would be my guess.

Chelsea's the pinnacle for him. Where else can he go? No club of that level is going to employee him ever again. Can't see him going to go back to the Championship.

Aye, that's what I think will be interesting about it, it'll be good to see whether he really has his heart set on being a manager, or whether he'll think "had a go, fuck it" and sit on Sky. Because as you say, he won't get a Chelsea level job again, and I doubt any lower PL sides would take a risk on him. Clubs in the championship would take a punt; he wasn't a disaster at Derby (wasn't particularly good like, but still) and they'd think he might have improved, plus he gives a bit of publicity. I'll be honest, I'll have a fair bit of respect for him if he drops back to the championship and goes again

Probably the worst thing that could have happened for him was that he was able to spend money. Seemed to do alright last season given what he had. Now they’ve spent a lot of money and the players haven’t really got going, that’s when the pressure comes. I don’t think Tuchel is that great but wonder if he’s being brought in with Werner and Havertz in mind
