I laugh when people say when a manager has done well "aye but he's had loads to spend". Spending money and spending it wisely is part and parcel of good management. Its very easy to spend someone else's money on absolute shit.

And we should know all about that!

In some ways it seems harsh, in that you'd think you'd want to give a young manager time to grow and learn. That being said he was only given the Derby job because of his reputation as a player, he then did an incredibly average job, and only got the Chelsea job because of his history with the club. So in many ways he was lucky to be there in the first place. Nowt wrong with him taking the gig, anyone would do it, but he'll have known that it's the kind of place where you need to be doing well throughout. If he wanted a job where he could grow he could have stayed where he was, so he can't really have any complaints. Be interesting to see where he goes next

A nice comfy chair in a tv studio somewhere, no doubt

Sky Sports studios would be my guess.

Chelsea's the pinnacle for him. Where else can he go? No club of that level is going to employee him ever again. Can't see him going to go back to the Championship.

That club is barmy. They were forced last season to act with a little bit of sense and this summer they've just gone out and acted like a kid in a sweet shop. They've got far too many players and no solid core. They're right in the middle of creating the next generation of De Bruyne and Salah types for other big clubs too.

If I was him I’d have gone and signed Calvert-Lewin from Everton, probably cost about £50-75 million and then 2 CB’s. Slowly built. He’s tried to change it all in 1 night
I'm not even sure I'd have tried to sign a centre forward, Tammy and Giroud were excellent last season.

Just needed to sort the defence out really minutes James as he's excellent also.

You'd hope he had a bit more time just off the back of his playing career, and he's done well with some young players like Mount and Rees James. Having said that, he's been tactically inept from day one and has shown no signs of developing as a manager. All his teams are just players shoved in with a hope for the best attitude, and with players of that quality you'll always get some results like that. Probably more contentious, but I don't think he handled the Kepa situation very well either, as he's given the youth players far more leeway in terms of their development.

On to the new guy then. Tuchel didn't get on well with the overreaching ownership at PSG, so it'll be interesting how he gets on this time round.

Poor PPG ratio and incredibly leaky defence, so in that it makes sense. Only beat 1 of the top 10 I think
