He is a well known lad, everyone does things in the heat of the moment that they regret.

Brings back memories of when I was pictured on front page of the Sunderland Echo for running on the pitch down Crystal Palace a few year back, not good for your family or employers like.....

Thats why i can't see it being long till someone hands his name in.

Everyone saying he should be locked up wants to have a look at thereselves mind. Far worse crimes are commited that go without a jail term than this for fuck sake.

If you're making racist gestures in the heat of the moment, there's something seriously wrong imo.

The stigma attached to it will do more than any prison sentence could do.

Monkey Boy will never see the inside of SOL ever again

I have had a season ticket in the North Stand for the past 5 years and I have to say whilst racism is not in your face I have heard isolated racial comments being made on a regular basis. It seems to be the older generation as oppose to the younger fans that hold racial views. I was having a discussion with a fan in his 50's at the villa game in respect of the Clattenburg accusations and he actually said "you can't even call them the N word anymore without running the risk of having your season ticket taken off you" he seemed taken a back when he realised I didn't share his opinion.

Nee excuse now. He's made the club look backwards as fuck. Ban him.

Absolutely, he should still face punishment though. People commit crimes in the heat of the moment, he needs to face up to it.

Re: [BBC] Police start racism investigation from Sunderland match

just what we need:roll:

Damn f***ing straight it is. I will never get why people think that being passionate about your club equates to justifying anything that goes on around it to avoid bad press. Grow the fuck up and get your priorities right.

The club definitely issues banning orders, whether they can be unforced or not is another issue. That's why I was suggesting we should do something other than just banning.

I know mate, that would only keep the hard core lads out who would degrade themselves by dressing up as clowns and the like :) For folk being one off bell ends you have no chance of banning them.

Yet another insightful comment from Masterplank. They should throw the kitchen sink at the lad. I hope he never has the experience of walking into a football ground again in his life, there's no place for people like him in the sport.

To describe it as "heat of the moment" is moronic, but nothing surprises me anymore with you. If you're racist in the heat of the moment, your racist full stop. Anyway, he shouldn't be allowed back for that ridiculous cap he's wearing. Jesus wept.
