Lack of fight - unacceptable.

One of them was against Man Utd, the best team in the country.

One was against Norwich, a team in the middle of what is now a ten game unbeaten run and on the back of three consecutive home wins including Utd and Arsenal.

One was against Chelsea, the third best team in the country and European champions.

One was against West Brom and was in the main down to a goalkeeping error that no-one (except, I suppose you would argue, MON) could legislate for.

There you go. Next......

I don't need to go next, you've just excused gifting leads to teams based on their league position. Which is outrageous and obviously ridiculous.
As for MON, I hadn't mentioned him in any of my posts to you.

Just stop for your own sake.

The problem today for me is that, for all we played well in the second half (which we did) and the numerous decent chances we created, the game was dead and buried after an abysmal 20 minutes. The defence let us down badly today. Seemed to be playing in slow motion the way the manyoo players moved with ease around them. So typical that O'Shea, against his idols, would gift the first goal to them, and was a culprit for the third......

We were beaten by a better team.

Sometimes that happens.

It's not a reason to act like a 6 year old.

Grow a spine.
So the arguments about gifting 2-0 leads ends? Strange.
I of course accept we were beaten by a better team today, that is quite obvious. But the manner of the defeat is disappointing and worthy of criticism in my book.

No, I was prodding people going to ridiculous extremes of hysteria - he wants to get us relegated on purpose, he's trying to lose games etc. When it was shit I was happy to say it was shit, and unfortunately it frequently was towards the end.

MoN had an excellent start and I was happy that we appointed him - although my choice would have been Mark Hughes, I admit (a certainty that this is the bit that will be highlighted in a pathetic attempt at one-upmanship) - a clear and unarguable improvement on Bruce, attracted mainly imho because we didn't punt Bruce after three games of a season. He had a brilliant start and could seemingly do no wrong.

Something has gone badly awry since then however, and I can't understand the frantic, almost desperately willing ignorance of the very clear problems we have. I don't want him out - I want him to get this set of players going again, I want him to abandon his apparent favouritism towards players who've consistently let him down, explore the options on the bench (Wickham a case in point) and I want him to boot a few of them right up the arse. I don't want to get to January having to buy players or get relegated.

So far this season there's only the Reading game where we've gone out there on the front foot, made our dominance count and earned the points. What exactly has gone wrong? He had a worse squad than this performing brilliantly this time last year, and under considerably more pressure than now.

The shrugging of shoulders and accusations of bedwetting are verging on the lunatic. Something is badly wrong here.

You f***ing introduced the phrase bed-wetting to this site man

You'll be in for it now

This is the point, ALOT of positives today but it is ridiculous to keep gfting teams leads through stupid mistakes.

I didn't excuse "gifting" anything, because we didnt. Those teams went 2-0 up against us because they, in the main and certainly in the case of Man Utd and Chelsea, were better than us.

Even if I accepted your argument in the cases of Norwich and West Brom, which I don't, then that would be 2 games in 17. A huge epidemic indeed. O'Neill out etc.

Exile is one of many genuinely worried fans and rightly so , why people feel the need to abuse him for his concerns is out of order , i think we will stay up and MON will get it right but any fan who reckons they arnt concerned at our position are living in dreamland .

So what is your criticism on today's game? Lets hear it mate

I completely accept that we were unlikely to get a positive result today. I'm of the opinion that I can take defeat on the chin if we've given our all but lose to the better side. That is what sport is about. What I dont like is the negative mindset that we have. I would like to see us try and be positive in these games as you never know what might happen. You can call that naive if you want but im worried that our focus seems to always be on nullifying the opposition rather than trying to assert ourselves on the opposition. We seem to have adopted the same set up in most games this season and it hasnt served us very well. I 's not just about today, we seem to be the same home and away regardless of the opposition.

We're all looking and hoping for ways to turn our situation around. I cant see that persevering with the same setup will do that. I would like to see O'Neill get 2 up front and give the opposition something to worry about. That isnt about today, it's about the whole season. We play with wingers yet dont get enough players into the box for crosses. It's been like that for months and has changed very little. Larsson isnt a cm yet is being played there every week regardless of performance. For me, Johnson looks better on the left than right, Sess isnt a second striker and gardner has played his best games at right back. So I would question the team selection - that does not make me a mag or a wum.

This is not about reacting to one game. I fundamentally worry about O'Neill's approach to. matches based on how poorly we're starting them, our inability to get the basics right and the end results over the last few months. I'm desperate for signs of things getting better but any signs only seem to come in 1 half of football and usually when we're chasing the game.

That's just my opinion - I dont expect everyone to agree but i'm not a mag, a wum or any other term that gets thrown at people who have a contrary opinion to those who are obviously passionate about SAFC. We all are - let's not lose sight of that or let that passion dismissively stop debate.

Well in that case you completely ignored what I had said. My only point was that we had been gifting goals / leads. If you weren't writing in retaliation to that then I don't know what your problem is.

I haven't said O'neill out to you either so why you've attached that on the end is a mystery.

Anyway, i'm off for the night enjoy RTG

We surrendered to a better team - that's the problem. I didn't ask for a win, I asked for us to be brave enough to have a go and see what happened. We hid.

No, it was pants-shitter iirc.

Brown trouser brigade was also one of mine.

No we didn't - we made mistakes under intense pressure, away from home against a fantastic team. As will almost every side that goes there this season.

Gutless today. I can accept that we are not as good as Man U - individually or collectively - but I can not accept such a lack of effort. shows total disdain for the fans and manager. Man Unt were in a training game man.

100% agree and it is nothing controversial. Abysmal defending for all three goals really when you watch them again. Not saying manyoo did not deserve to win overall, but awful goals to concede. Don't think MoN will be happy with them.

Mistakes were made today, and have been made over previous weeks. However that isn't the issue on this thread

Lack of fight? Clueless

Other than Larsson, I disagree. Too many players just not good enough.

What a f***ing ridiculous thread.

Great effort from the lads today

Wind your neck in you f***ing imbecile. We made a few mistakes and were punished by the best team in the country. We're not the first and we certainly won't be the last.

To go away to Man Utd without so many key players, fall 3-0 behind and still go on to compete in the game shows anything other than a lack of fight.

Coming from the person who said it's only the results that matter

Changed your perspective much?

Oh, and shit thread Exile. We're lacking in many things but fight away at Old Trafford is not the problem. That you started this at 4pm and couldn't at least wait until the end of the game doesn't help either.

Every neutral media has described the game as a stroll or easing to victory, but the clappies know better.
