Lack of fight - unacceptable.

There's plenty of valid criticism on this thread and then there's you being a whinging knacker.

Bingo. MON gets plenty of criticism. Much of it is warranted. As of yet I haven't had anyone pursue me for the criticism I have levelled at MON. However, some on here seem to think that they can post a mixture of relevant opinion and specious nonsense with impunity and anyone who calls them on it is deluded by a near religious fervour. It's laughable.

No, I was prodding people going to ridiculous extremes of hysteria - he wants to get us relegated on purpose, he's trying to lose games etc. When it was shit I was happy to say it was shit, and unfortunately it frequently was towards the end.

MoN had an excellent start and I was happy that we appointed him - although my choice would have been Mark Hughes, I admit (a certainty that this is the bit that will be highlighted in a pathetic attempt at one-upmanship) - a clear and unarguable improvement on Bruce, attracted mainly imho because we didn't punt Bruce after three games of a season. He had a brilliant start and could seemingly do no wrong.

Something has gone badly awry since then however, and I can't understand the frantic, almost desperately willing ignorance of the very clear problems we have. I don't want him out - I want him to get this set of players going again, I want him to abandon his apparent favouritism towards players who've consistently let him down, explore the options on the bench (Wickham a case in point) and I want him to boot a few of them right up the arse. I don't want to get to January having to buy players or get relegated.

So far this season there's only the Reading game where we've gone out there on the front foot, made our dominance count and earned the points. What exactly has gone wrong? He had a worse squad than this performing brilliantly this time last year, and under considerably more pressure than now.

The shrugging of shoulders and accusations of bedwetting are verging on the lunatic. Something is badly wrong here.

Good one

Not so much lack of fight as lack of atention....

There is plenty problems with our team and the way we approach games at the moment (although there have been more positive signs in recent weeks) but I don't think we've been lacking in fight or effort

Main problem is O'neill was left with a fairly mediocre squad with a few players who may not even be good enough for the league. He's addressed some of the concerns in the summer and will look to do the same in Jan.

I can accept people think we should have played better / been more positive in games this season and having a go at some of O'neills tactics or changes during games but we are trying and we are fighting, we're just a bit shit

As long as we stay up this season that's all that matters, we'll have to be kicking on from then though

Who thinks he's beyond criticism?

No one. I have criticized him plenty, as have others. The issue is that some people are desperate to moan (can't even wait til full time to do it they're so eager) and are completely against the manager (despite what they say when called on it) and it pisses people off.

The OP keeps harping that I won't go trawling posts from months ago to prove he has an agenda but is too thick to see he proves it with every post he makes and that everyone knows exactly what he is.

That was my memory of his stance when Bruce was sacked too. Seems strange that there's 4-5 people on this thread thought that independently.

As you say there's no point trawling looking for the posts, this thread shows he lacks the self awareness to accept he's wrong. The fact that a year ago he was making up names for people who were attending games and sick of watching Bruce's side and now he's sat behind his keyboard starting threads like this at half time, shows he's a hypocrite if nowt else.

Can't find the posts then?

That's because there aren't any. I've consistently responded when called on anything. I like MoN but he's simply not doing a good enough job with what he has. The reasons, which are perfectly valid and often repeated by others without the witch hunt, have been stated over and over again.

Not a peep on these posts which could prove I was against him from the start though. Yes, I'm harping, but you're flat out lying and unable to back up the stick you like to try to beat me with.

Read your post twice and i still dont understand it. Bruce needed to h
go because he was a self obsessed wanker who had lost the dressing room. There were very few football supporers in the country, never mind sunderland supporters, whp didnt think he should be sacked. Almost no one in the country thinks that it is time for mon to leave. And i hope that that includes short because the same people who boo at the match nowadaus are of the.same ilk as those who smashed the fuck out of oppositipn isupporters i
