Kyle Lafferty - contract terminated...

He did okay. We need to have ambitions beyond a Kyle Lafferty though. We need to go out and sign a striker capable of playing up a division with us, not a short term fix.

If it meant never seeing Wyke, Graham or Grigg ever again in a Sunderland shirt I'd have Bobby Gurney back never mind Kyle bloody Lafferty.

It's a testament to how horrendous we are that a well past his prime Kyle Lafferty would still be the best striker we have at the club.

Anyone saying no obviously has forgotten that we brought in Danny Graham instead.

I'd be over the moon to get him back in as a replacement.
Agree with that no better than Danny Graham, another to steal a living the time he was here.

You have to be taking the piss

Lafferty is far better than Graham and probably, if fit, better than Wyke. However, last night gave us a glimpse of a different style of football where you have mobile players up front who can control a ball and make intelligent runs. We have tried the big lump method for too long and it hasn't worked.

He's not the answer but I can't get my head around why the club didn't offer him a contract but did offer one to the disaster that is Danny Graham.

The Graham signing was fine on paper. Parkinson should have tried a lot harder than he did to retain Lafferty though - I thought he'd offer us so much this season.

Eh? How on earth was Danny Graham's signing fine on paper. He's 35, he scored 4 goals in 39 games last season and he was an abject failure last time he was here. On paper that is a player in bad decline looking for a last pay day. Fans are, of course, not always right but all fans could see this was a stupid signing and so it has proven. For a supposed professional football club how on earth did this look 'fine' on paper? To me it looked a disastrous waste of our limited wage bill and I was right.

It really wasn't, nothing in his time since he left un indicated he'd be anything other than awful.

Another awful take from a poor poster
