Don't know but in my opinion with the Birmingham links we could be going down a different route to the Cowley's.
Probably not but as I've said on another thread there may be very few opportunities to be a "manager" at a club of any reasonable size now. Ipswich Town, surely his most likely destination if we don't get him, have a DoF and a General Manager of Football Operations. I'd like the Cowleys to have full control as Manager and Assistant Manager as would they. Unfortunately that option won't be available here now but nor will it many other places.

That may well be the case, but if I'm the Cowleys and Sunderland comes in for me, as long as I have some assurance it's not going to be a basket case any longer, I snap their hand off.
I think he'd take a job at a smaller club, providing it wasn't too small, if he was given free rein rather than here with our new structure. There don't seem to be many clubs who haven't gone down or are going down the route we appear to be though, so they may have to alter their demands. It might just be that the Cowleys would accept the new conditions so long as they wouldn't be subject to constant interference. I wouldn't like, and I'm sure they wouldn't, to be answerable for everything to the new fellow from Brum.
Whoever the new "first team coach", as it's now going to be instead of manager, is all sides need to be very clear what their roles are and where their powers begin and end.

Because It's not the sort of appountment that we were expecting. Its more an underwhelming Rodwell PP type than a wow have we just knicked him type! We should not be taking people 14 years at one club imo.
I will do more research but on the surface its someone 14 years at a championship club. Could we not aim higher?
So have a lot been. Doesn't mean a lot until they start the role. Just saying it's not a headline grabber. Chance for club to make a statement. Not sure what kind of statement someone from Birmingham who isn't even in the same role there is.
By wanting more for ous club. Yeah right!

We should be getting someone from Dortmund or Ajax then? Not going to happen. We need to lose the "We're Sunderland, they'll come because we're a big club" attitude. That's simply not how the rest of the football world sees us.

Well we know who was mentioned previously but I'd have looked at people doing the next level doen from SPD roie at big prem clubs or abroad. We're told new owners have contacte this was perfect time to use them. Instead we've someone who may not have contacts we will need if we're to progress.
