Have to say that, although this may well be the case, I certainly don't recall it told this way at the time.
No, the usual media rumours were peddled at the time, but when interviewed on TMS this was the story from the horse's mouth. He didn't want to leave.

The oval 5th test match 2005 facing brett lee. He was magnifcent.

3 hundreds against the saffers facing steyn and morkel
Yes, you'd have to say if proper figures were quoted instead of half remembered anecdotes it would probably be a different story.

Never scored a test match hundred in South Africa and never scored a test match hundred in Australia outside of the flat wicket at Adelaide. Very comfortable in England where the ball does not bounce as much.

Just a half remembered anecdote, but i think you will find it is correct. Thats 16 tests no hundred.

You say colly was great at playing on the fast bouncy wickets. Yet he never got a ton in south africa and he only got one ton in Australia at Adelaide.

Hypocrite in the same thread.

Gooch got one ton in Australia at Adelaide.

He only managed 5 outside England in 44 tests!!!

So two of you're example are completely incorrect about english batsmen great on bouncy fast wickets. Both scored tons in australia at the same ground as pietersen.

He's just hammered you on this forum with hard solid facts. Stop digging yourself a bigger hole
What figures if you think iam talking about Colly then you should join Moores and the ECB at the circus, you appear to know more about clowns than cricket.
