I’m not your marra either.

Strauss had the power to put his personal grudges to one side for the benefit of English cricket; and he chose himself. We’ve struggled in relative terms for batting ever since. As is to be expected when you tell your country’s highest run scorer that he can’t play because you don’t like him on a personal level.

I am talking to someone about Pietersen that is all, not sure why trying to start an argument like. I am not after one. Fair does.

I find it quite alarming you’re putting those players in the same league as KP mind. Root has massive potential to equal him and I hope for the sake of English cricket he does! Stokes is a talent but a long way off and Bairstow!? Really?

Root's a better player than KP like

Stokes has scored some of the fastest 100s ever for England, and the fastest ever double 100

The point is we don't miss lads who score 100s at a quick rate, we miss a Trott type

I think its a fair point. I don't think we'd win much more games now if KP played as it wouldn't address our clear weaknesses. Not saying Bairstow is a better player.

But we've never replaced Strauss or Trott. We have lots of high class middle order players from 4 downwards

IMO of course.

If you prefer it - no he didn’t sack him (although I refuse to believe - given how Strauss “landed on his feet” with a job afterwards, that he had no say). Notwithstanding - Strauss had the opportunity to do the right thing, and he chose to put himself and his personal grudge first. The team suffered for that.

It’s a matter of opinion, but I disagree. As much as I love watching Root bat if still rather watch KP. It’s matterless of speed of runs etc. It’s runs scored which he can’t be questioned about. Plus to say Trott is a bigger miss than him is laughable! Great player yes, but not in the same league

Its not laughable

I didn't say he was a better player, where did I say that?

We just miss him more, we have lads from 4 down who score runs and at a good rate. We also miss Strauss

The biggest weaknesses in the side over the last few years have been opener and number 3? Sure you'd agree?

Personal opinion but Root is the best talent I have seen play for England, he is just unbelievable. I saw some of KP's best innings live, just think Root is a different level, as his average shows

Its only your view that its the right thing

The vast majority of the public don't like him and didn't want him back

Now they may be wrong in your opinion, but its not a factual thing, I and many others didn't want him back. I pay my money home and away so are entitled to my opinion, like you are. Its not a right or wrong though.
