Kodi stream blocking "game changer"

If they can block the stream at source, ie they can identify the IP address producing the stream, then the fact you might be routing your box via a VPN isn't relevant. I'll concede that you might still be able to use a box via VPN to access a source that is streaming legitimately in its own particular jurisdiction. What they're doing will make it harder to find a stream.

Problem is the souce could be somewhere hosting is dirt cheap.

So they block one server set. The provider just activates another and another and another etc.

I've enjoyed ifollow so far for the Champo. I'd happily have paid SAFC £130 too to watch home matches but they've opted out.

As the Premier league is shown live all over the world by legitimate TV networks and streams can then be picked up and streamed from wherever and accessed via a VPN EPL streams are always going to be available.

They need to start supplying all games live for either a season pass for your club or selling the matches as one offs.

The punters want to watch and discuss the games live. And any who want to are doing it already ..

If they want to stop illegal streaming the set up an online or interactive service so people can pick and choice what games they want to watch. Not the games that the TV companies think we want to watch.
This...we keep getting told it's an entertainment, well if that's the case lets have the right to pick and choose...

Reading that, it comes across as P2P streams, which are piss easy to block.

As for Sportsmania/Starstreams/BDL and the likes, it will take them a hell of a lot longer to ping their servers

it still wouldnt make me pay for sky or bt as i only watch sunderland now anyway

Absolutely this. If Sky and BT cottoned on to the fact that not everyone is arsed about the top 4 and provided a service where you can watch who you want there wouldn't be millions up millions of people using kodi. Their whole set up is outdated.

I'd have no qualms of putting my hand in my pocket and paying any company to watch Sunderland. Hell I've paid just for the right to listen to them as it stands on our website. If sky were to copy Ifollow and bring out a scheme to watch your club it would be a roaring success. Sadly they don't and therefore I normally have no choice but to PAY sportsmania for that right. Equally I refuse to pay 50 pound a month for a sports package from Sky that shows 5 Sunderland games a season. It seems every country in the world is allowed access to all games apart from the UK - I get they want to keep the stadiums full but they really aren't giving people much choice which is mad considering the quality of product they could deliver to every football fan.

Spot on. I'd rather not watch games on tv than pay sky silly money for a few games. It is time to do a package tailor made for particular clubs. First company to do so legally will reap the rewards.

My view - FWIT

I am still receiving all live football streams as I have been for 2 seasons thru Sportsmania. I use Nord VPN. ($75 for 2 years. Covers 5 devices).

Once I can't access the streams I will post on whatever thread is active confirming that I'm knackered and hopefully a work-around with be forthcoming.

I am assuming the current issues that SM are having with their payments server is related to protecting their anonymity / servers from those who wish to put them out of business . Maybe it is the ISP's (or whoever) who are making it so difficult for SM. I don't know.

That's it :)

Just let me watch all Sunderland away games then. Charge me ££ for the privaledge.

I don't get why this isn't a thing? If they are so bothered about it affecting home attendances, Why not have an ifollow type service for your club, and let me watch every away game but not home.

Thought SM weren't actually having payment issues but were shelving taking payments while they work on the best way going forward. They are giving out free codes for subscriptions in the meantime

I've watched all he games no bother so far with the free codes
