KLD has a lot to think about . . .

He's 70. He's really not what we need and doesn't play the type of football we're supposed to be applying.
He's get us winning games despite his age or playing style. The type of football we are currently playing isn't even league quality, getting him in is a risk I'd happily take.

No, I think a month ago (or just over) he had us on course for a successful season. We need to re-discover that form and confidence in the next month.
Form and confidence ?

On the back of some absolute hammerings, we’ve just been outplayed, outfought and outthought by a team languishing at the bottom of the 4th division.

Whilst I appreciate that sacking a manager every season isn’t the answer, there’s something fundamentally flawed at the moment. Johnson is on very thin ice.

I'm honestly not that fussed about today, but that's me. Against Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday we were outbattled and Johnson provided no solution, so he gets stick for that. I wasn't at Rotherham so can't really comment.

He's under pressure at the moment, but talk of sacking him is premature.

Honestly don’t just think it’s a simple sack LJ or keep LJ. Should he choose the former I think he’d have to also get rid of KS . . . A big(ger) name manager won’t come and work with the same DoF, maybe no DoF at all. The likes of Wilder, Keane, Big Sam wouldn’t come under those circumstances. They might not come at all but this is a HUGE moment in the future few months (possibly seasons) of our club.

I would love to know the success rate for clubs with directors of football. I’m a big believer the manager should sign the players he wants

johnson has a lot to think about , im a fan but this tactic of playing from the back is mental , we've stopped the counter attack ,no urgency in our play , put himself under real pressure
Unfortunately this is the structure that is worked through out the club.
These tactics won't change any time soon

I can see why we're trying it tbf. We've had years of getting managers in, letting them spend, finding they aren't the right person and then having to start again. Obviously it almost led us to financial ruin. This seems a good approach but we need to have the right coach, and the right recruitment team. Recruitment side have work to do but I'd say a bit of credit in the bank, Johnson currently is getting nothing out of the players though and its got to be getting a serious look from the owner

Today was an opportunity for him to start putting things right. An opportunity to show that we’ve learned (LJ’s words).

I’m not bothered about going out of the cup but I’m very bothered about the lacklustre, clueless and spineless effort that we watched today. That was a disgusting performance.

He's largely to blame for this situation mind. A smart, pro-active owner would have peddled Johnson after last season's pathetic collapse and if he's still in the dugout for the Ipswich game then that will say a lot about KLD's level of ambition, or lack thereof.

I disagree. He's not here to throw money at a problem. He's here to build. Or in fact rebuild on a lot of other people's demolitions.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
That said, I don't think he's stupid enough to build it on sand.

He's not doing this on his own.

Sack speakman for failing to bring in the right players with a transfer budget of about 20 pence. I give up.

How about an existing shareholder paying back 15 million quid hes taken from the club for starters and giving speakman and co a fair crack of the whip?
Now warnock is available that would make me want a change even more
I've seen this a bit tonight. Boro fans back home can't stand the bloke. He's 72 and completely past it. Would be an absolutely ridiculous appointment.

If we don’t beat Ipswich KLD and Speakman have a very big decision to make. Do they back Johnson despite likely fan unrest and despite his previous clubs experiencing something similar, and risk us not going up for the sake of stability or do they believe that the players they’ve recruited are good enough and bite the bullet to try and rescue automatic promotion this season?

I suspect it’ll be the former for the next but they’ll be preparing for the latter nevertheless

What exactly has Speakman achieved in the game. He is no better than LJ.

We remain the hobby of a young heir to billions. ~Whatever he loses will be small change to him. I don't suppose he loses as much sleep as many on here.
well there you go, what's it been 6 months? obviously written off then. New owner, new model, new DOF, na its all shit because we have had a run of bad games that has barely lasted 4 weeks.

I'm all for criticising the manager and players but this is dross
