Still have to pay their wages, now that Dobson is off the wage bill, looks like Shrewsbury are taking Grigg so whatever of his wages they pay we can now use.
We are at the limit on the wage cap so unless we get rid of wages we can't sign anyone unless they are under 21

As long as we find players with pace, age is not an issue for me, even if they are 16 or 20.

im not saying you are wrong, but it doesn’t square with LJ saying he’s after a striker and a left back. If we weren’t going to bring players in why would he build up expectations?

or do you mean they won’t want to be under pressure to spend serious money? Surely they could explain that away by virtue of the wage cap and/or stating their desire not to throw good money after bad by spending when we don’t have a good recruitment team.

I don’t know. The idea of them delaying strikes me as wrong and a bit too obvious, everyone will know exactly why if they announce it a day or so after the window closes.
If I was KLD I wadnt be wanting to give my money to a manager who I knew next to nowt about and who hadn’t proved he could improve the shite already here. But that’s been my opinion of how I’d operate since the early 80s if I owned a club.
I think KLD will want a full summer transfer window once he and his people have had their boots on the ground for for half a season or so.
We’ve been mainly shite for 60+yrs. Id rather have a studied thought out plan for SAFC than the last few days of the January window spent thrashing around chasing the recommendations of a manager with no real pedigree who has been here two minutes. If LJ flops and gets the push we’ll be left with a bunch of his flops to ease out as well as Ross’s, Graysons, Parkys and whoever else’s failures are still hanging around. It’s that sort of short termism that has us wherever the hell we are now.
New broom and all that.

I see what you're saying but the reality is we're trying to bring in 3 players anyway, according to LJ, and the salary cap means we can't possibly blow Grigg type money even if we wanted to.

I just don't see how holding off until the window closes changes much.

Think there's things need to be cleared up. KLD as reported has a trust fund of 2bn which is tied up. What if we need 5m cash tomorrow @Grumpy Old Man

It really depends on the terms of the trust and who the trustees are. Taking any money from a trust as a minimum requires sign off from the trustees. It’s not just cash in the bank with instant access.

You’d also need to look into the rules of foreign trusts. Could be Swiss or Monegasques. Almost certainly Swiss though.

If it was done would it not show on companies house @Grumpy Old Man ?

No. Those filings won't be made until all the changes in directorships, etc, have already happened.

Overdraft.

Read that if you can be arsed.

This would appear to relate to financial institutions working as trusts, eg pension funds, rather than will trusts.

There was no specific trust law at all in Switzerland until 2020. This just confirms there now is.
