The current owner also;
Broke the transfer record for player sales in league1
Used the clubs own money to buy it
Sold off a generations worth of talent for pennies
Sacked everyone down to the kitman
Took out a £9 million loan secured against the clubs assets “he didnt need”
No need to worry though as he spent £3 million on a waster live on tv.
This is spot on, what makes me laugh is @kildaremackem makes out, signing Grigg is something we should be proud of.

When it’s totally embarrassing the whole thing, we started bidding at £150,000 and paid £3m with add ons, I equate this to a premier lg club, that starts offering £1.5 m and ends up paying £30m for a player, just unbelievably bad business.

Wigan and a few agents must have been laughing at the fortune they made.

Don't trust Donald and co but Jones is another matter....somebody needs to ask him a direct question on Twitter or fleece book......."has the deal passed the efl test"

People always forget the time component when using that quote.
Didn't Dave Jones post on his instagram saying all is good with the deal

the current owner broke the lague one transfer record.
the nw owner wont be doing that, however wealthy they are.

Wasn't that in their first Januarry transfer window though, when it looked like we'd probably go up and the club would be worth more?

From the next window and each window after failing to get promoted, we never really spent much money at all. The Campbell, The Dell Boys, etc takeovers all picked up traction at the beginning of windows and only fell through once the window was about to end.

Not only did we not spend any significant amount of money, but we had a truncated window that quite visibly suffered from a lack of planning, meaning we only signed loans and failed players on free transfers

Wigan were laughing at us a week before we even upped the offer to what eventually was. Cook did a press conference and took the piss.

indeed. though didnt SD always say the campbell one was a non runner?
most teams in this leagu sped nowt..safc always spent a bit more than not..but the planning of t all was horrndously bad.

The big difference was with the dell takeover that was started by someone on here, it wasnt really widely reported by different media sources, or any statement from the club and potential new owner

To be fair in this window it doesnt really affect much, doesnt matter who owns the ckub we are still stuck with the ridiculous salary cap

We can still buy players though. We can sell if we wish, and bring in players. Young players with talent but a lot to prove. They wouldn't be earning the average wage at the moment so would fit in well

He did after it fell through after inviting him to a cup final and allowing him to discuss transfer targets with the manager.

It can't have been that much of a non-runner - our manager at the time was discussing transfer targets with him

We can leave players out the squad, pay them off or sign u21's regardless.

Whilst none of that is particularly financially sound, neither is being allowed to sign Phil Foden on 100 million per week but not be able to offer Messi 3k per week in case we go bust.

The salary cap is a farce.

Yeah we can’t get under 21s if there on high wages
so we can only get what teams want away

Aye, it's a joke. What makes it worse it was laughed off the table by the Championship Clubs. They saw it or what it was and it was a non-starter from the second it was laid out.

Aye, because us having it and them not, protects them. Ultimately it forces promoted sides to gamble when promoted just to compete.

I’m just going to go with the takeover not happening and it won’t happen until it’s confirmed on the club website. Too many false dawns, promises & fairytales.

We’ve been here before.
No we havnt, nowhere near but because you don't know what's happening just talk shit, when did the club announce any other deal was at the EFL, they havmt so we havnt been here before and the fact tin solider likes your post says it all
