years ago a mate of mine built a Lotus 7, and more recently a mate built a Cateram. Sold it within 6 months before he killed himself in it.

If you’re after one to just drive, buy one already done.

If you want to build one specifically they aren’t difficult so long as you have the time, money, space and some mechanical know how. I’ve helped on a number of builds.
