Kissing automatic promotion goodbye

Never thought I would agree with a forumer but I have. But at the same time with Portsmouth, Luton and probably Barnsley gone my hopes are that if we don't go up then the 2019/2020 season will see more weaker teams and us as really the only reasonably top (ish) team in the division. But with clubs like Bolton, Ipswich, Reading and Rothertham most likely to be the Championship teams going down that looks tough.
No it doesn't

They are higher than us. They have more points than us. They have won 3 more games than us. They have drawn far less than us. If we are as good as anyone why haven't we done better against then?

It may come as a shock to you, oh depressed one,it doesnt matter what position you are in, in January, its where you are at the end of the season that counts. So stop pissing your pants

I agree with that, in general, and think we need the boost of some new players.

People are surprised we're interested in Leadbitter but rotating similar players, especially in midfield, might be what we need.

Honeyman, Gooch and McGeady need to play to their capabilities and we'll win games.

However, if we don't bring in a striker, plus another on loan, I'd be equally surprised, misinformed and worried.
. This ^ don't think Gooch and McGeady have played at their best level and if they had done would have contributed with more winning goals

January was likely to be a pivotal month and it absolutely is now Maja is away.

We are sitting in a very good position but we've lost our top scorer and have been playing shite for a number of weeks.

Fingers crossed the new bodies that arrive and the enforced changes from Maja leaving brings us fresh impetus and an improvement in the football we are playing.

They were “excellent” when we allowed them to be. We were 3-0 up because they couldn’t cope with us. They got back into the game and we woke up and killed them off. The way people go on about their performance baffles me tbh. They played some canny stuff at times but the only time we really struggled to cope with them was when they launched the ball at Moore.
They are currently sitting 3rd in the league and are top of the current league 1 form guide, 5 wins out of the last 6. Better goal difference than us. Baffles me how people don't see them as a threat to be honest. All about opinions of course.

Have you had many injuries/suspensions?
Yes lost our captain and arguably our best player this season 2 months ago for the season. Luke Berry only just coming back after breaking his leg. 3 of our 1st choice front line currently out (Elliott Lee, Harry Cornick and Danny Hylton) so yes we’ve been hit, but have a deep squad. Our club captain Sheehan hasn’t been featuring due to the form of our 2 CHs.

Lee went off against us, he been missing since?

Played in the FA replay against SW but pulled up at the end, not featured since. Luckily Luke Berry has returned from his broken leg in time and hit the floor running, LuaLua has also been fantastic since getting a starting place.

So you're honestly saying half of your first team have been out most of the season?

Not sure what you’ve seen from either of those to suggest they play better football mind. Barnsley in particular were shite up here. We played them off the park, they piled the pressure on after we sat back after going 3-0 up, we then killed the game off with an excellent counter attack. Luton looked dreadful when we actually put pressure on them aswell. Shame we didn’t bother in the 2nd half. When we move the ball quickly on the ground no team has been able to get near us.

Both of those teams carved us open at will at times though. Admittedly Barnsley didn't really start until we were three up, but our keeper kept us in it a number of times against Luton. Their keeper barely had a shot to save.

I’m not saying they aren’t a threat. I said at the start of the season I expect it to be us and them that go up. I just don’t think they were that good up here that doesn’t mean they aren’t one of the better teams in the league.

Our biggest problem is our inability to cope with sides who are raising their game against us and it’ll be that that will be our downfall if we don’t go up.

Lutonlona man!

If that lad is to be believed they have stronger squad depth than ourselves, Portsmouth and Charlton combined. Every player is quality and they are just as good when missing 6 or 7 players. In fact, they only need to field 8 to get the job done.

Why can't fans just be honest?

Where did I say that? Luke Berry has just returned after breaking his leg last season, Glen Rea (captain) is out for the rest of the season. The other 3 I mentioned are out currently either injuried or suspended
