Kirk Douglas RIP

Frightening the amount of people that are talking about this alleged rape as if it is categorically true, despite any actual evidence and that most of the people saying this stuff weren’t even alive at the time.

John Wayne famously stormed up to Douglas after a screening and raged: “Christ, Kirk, how can you play a part like that? There’s so goddamn few of us left. We got to play tough, strong characters. Not those weak queers!”
Says a lot more about Wayne than Kirk that, he's got to be the most overrated actor that ever got to be a star the wig wearing draft dodger, the Duke my arse!

She was a little bike in her early years and apparently would at her mother's orders latch on to any star who could further her career, hooked up with Elvis for a while in the 50's but they were poles apart socially, apparently it annoyed her that he was more interested in finding out what the likes of James Dean and Tony Curtis were like (he was in awe of them as actors)than putting up with her and her mother! (Elvis' mother couldn't stand her so it was dead before it started)

Even if she was a little bike it doesn’t mean that she couldn’t be the victim of a sexual assault. I’m just uncomfortable with people treating this as if it’s been proven with evidence.

Marion was also a white supremacist, racist bigot

To add some context to that, he believed that blacks should have equality when they were in his words “responsible enough”.

Obviously an awful point of view to have especially in this day and age but not exactly atypical of a man of his era. A cross-burning Klansman he was not.

He also hated Mexicans and latinos, which is odd because he married one.

Couldn’t have hated them that much then could he.

I think there’s a difference between actively hating another race and having a “us” and “them” mentality. One can lead to the other of course and neither are desirable but there’s a distinction to be made there.
