It’s not as black and white as that is it. Plenty players being touted around in a pamphlet to other clubs who we’ve actively tried to sell in instead of offering contracts. Others who’ve gotten offers from big clubs and had their heads turned. And one bloke who’s been offered a contract but decided to effectively go awol in pursuit of a nonexistent move elsewhere, missed a whole preseason in the process and who no one seems to have any interest in.
There's plenty of players who have considered their options this summer especially with it being weird due to Covid. Take Garbutt et al. Can't blame a player for wanting to.

I'd keep him and give him another couple of years. Once he fills out which all going lads will, his pace and power will be a real attribute.

We've let too many young players leave before they develop fully, we shouldn't make the mistake with him as well.

He’s been really badly advised by his agent.
Probably been told he’s class and to hang around for a better offer.

In reality, he’s proved absolutely nothing, even at under 23 level, and has now missed pre season and a chance to impress here.

Garbutt et al had been released. He's done nowt man, theres no options to consider. Nobody wants him even for free. Agent seemed to think he could hold us to ransom and we called his bluff.

We are crying out for pace in the side but let’s fuck him off for trying to do what’s best for career when yet again the club managed to let his contract run down. If Peterborough had this kid they’d probably end up getting millions for him by developing him properly and giving him game time.

He may well be given another contract and come back. Will he knuckle down? More importantly how will his colleagues take it? Will they bin him off for going AWOL and maybe thinking he’s better than he is? Given Porkys reluctance to give young lads a chance, and as it appears no one else is interested, I think he’s looking at this contract thinking it’s a last resort, better than nowt. If that’s the case I’m not sure this is a good idea.

Until a young player has a run in the 1st team, it's hard to make a judgement. We clearly do need pace though.

I thought Henderson was average, so I'm not a good judge anyway.

He won't develop though. He's decided that his agent should determine his career and hasn't kicked a ball for half a year. Clearly doesnt give a shit about developing or he wouldnt have fucked off and skipped pre-season
