Kieran McKenna perfect fit (managerial suggestion)

Liam Manning would be the man I'd like us to go for next summer.

However, if you wanted to go down the Maresca/Carrick/McKenna route then Jack Wilshere is a shout. Highly rated coach and in charge of Arsenals youth team
Jack Wilshere, no.

Will be Burnley manager in a few weeks time when they sack Kompany
he isnt stupid enough to do that..
Jack Wilshere couldn’t even get his team to the correct town yesterday, the coach went to Bournemouth instead of Brighton.
blame the manager/DOF for that not wilshire..who is a coach..and so not involved in logistics..
TBF you could say the same about TM. Took Blackburn as far as he could and 5 seasons on he did the same, never able to push them onto the next level. I see a similar pattern here.
he got blackburn promoted..
he also had his budget cut towards the end i think..
The only issue with TM is he's at the end of his career and understandably, zero shits given for media duties and all the little corporate shite he and other of that age have to deal with, tedious for them.

I have no problem with that, he didn't go into Football to be a media celebrity. Unlike politicians, who usuaully peak in their 50s and 60s. Football Managers don't.

My issue with his age is that given his long career in the game he doesn't 'react' as well as a younger manager might to any given situation during the match. I suppose that's what his advisors/coaching staff are there for but they ain't the best either.

Proctor is there as he's probably wiling to do the job for noghin as it's his boyhood club, the other lad is part of the previous regime.

Expect all three gone by the start of next season, no offense to those involved, at all.

If KLD is ambitious he will want us pushing for automatic promotion in 2024
Dodds is here because of the praise lavished on him as a player development coach by judge bellingham..
thing is..player development coaches arent repsonsible for tactics or in game changes..why would dodds know about that..he isnt a manager never wants to be and has really no experience of it..Mowbrays assistant at SAFC is mark venus..not proctor and not dodds...

he got Blackburn promoted from D1 but not from the Championship. He did get WBA promotion from the Championship, but that was like 20 years ago. His career has gone sideways ever since.

so he made progress with blackburn then..
yes its dsideways in the sense that he is operating at the same end of the same division now as he was 20 years ago..

Just been looking at his route to Ipswich and how he's turned them around he must have something about himself and playing a style of football that would be good to watch
He's doing great but it's been upward trajectory the whole way. Let's see when the pressure hits, he gets a few injuries, players turn against him etc etc. So many coaches of had instant success and faded to fuck all

Brave shout that like.
I mean you might be right and you might be wrong….
….but the fact is he’s been brilliant for almost two years now

Most managers have had atleast a brilliant two years like - especially those in and around the top leagues (even the very shite ones), it's why they keep getting rehired.

Just thinking of Managers who did well in their first first-team jobs:
Lampard led Derby to the Championship playoffs and then did well with a young Chelsea side under a transfer embargo.

Gerrard went undefeated and won the SPL with Rangers despite Celtic being (very) strong favourites. Also took Rangers far in the Europa League (Semi-Final iirc) before leaving for Villa.

David Wagner took Huddersfield from relegation contenders to The Premier League and then managed to keep them up.

I wouldn't fancy any of the above as our manager.

I'm not saying McKenna won't do well, I hope he does and I wouldn't mind ITFC being promoted, but it's difficult to judge a manager based solely on two years in the job.

He’d be injury shouting on the touch line man. Mans made of ginger snaps
