Kids meltdowns

What’s the second question.

Weathers been canny.

A young family I know only allow there two kids an hr screen time a day.Seems OTT to most people but I admit it probably does make sense for the bairns development.
Tbh it depends on the quality of the screen time. If they’re watching stuff like Alphablocks and Numberblocks on CBeebies then it can be quite educational.

Or even if it’s to give the exhausted parents fifteen minutes with a hot cuppa, when they would otherwise be at their wits end and screaming at the kids, then it can also be beneficial.

I agree totally

Anyone else going through difficult times with their child? My little girl is 6 and seems to have had personality transplant about 4 weeks ago. Proper off the hook meltdowns over the slightest of things. The sort where you can’t get through to them for 45 minutes. Rage meter at 10! Going to school, meltdown. Mum going to work, meltdown. Hungry, meltdown. Food not right, meltdown…etc

Never had this with her male siblings…people always say girls are harder. Not sure I buy into that mind.

Really frustrating and worrying times.

Yep I've got a 6 year old daughter doing exactly the same.

Currently on holiday and she refused to get out of the shower today, literally 45 mins just standing there 😄 ended up dragging her out and being the bad guy

The wifes (no) mate has tried for 3 year to get her son diagnosed with autism

He is a canny kid just not as bright as others (takes after his dad ) but his dad has had a canny life got his own plumbing business and its never held him back.

The kids mam has had him to god knows how many doctors and specialists and finally he has been diagnosed as autistic !!!!

He was playing footy on a team with all his mates and played cricket with them he was going to a normal school and managing it all

She has now got him playing for a disabled football team where the goalkeeper is in a wheelchair and he is now in the "special" classes at school

Ive known this kid for years and he is a canny bairn who just isnt as bright as others but can manage at life perfectly well, now the poor kid is labelled for the rest of his life and all because his mother wanted this to get other benefits and free trips away or holidays from different charities.

Sometimes i think we are too quick to label kids who are just having a bad day/week
This sort of behaviour must surely be rare?

The last thing I wanted was a label for my daughter, I just wanted help so she could achieve her potential.
You do get loads of money mind. Well, his mam does. I’ve never seen a penny.

How much do you get?

Enjoy the meltdowns everyone, not kids, the ones on here, keep well, don’t anyone die till at least after Easter.

TTFN.

You would hope so

In watched her do this though and i seen how happy she was when he was diagnosed

Exactly like you say its the last thing you would want to label anybody with and if your daughter is using it so you and her can make the nest for her now and in the future then you both deserve all the plaudits

I know of a couple of cases at least where the reasoning behind wanting their Bairns diagnosed as having a condition to take the blame away from the parents for being f***ing useless parents.
As a few posters have said any normal person wouldn't want that ffs.

Nothing wrong with giving kids device time as long as it's done it moderation. Impossible to run about after kids hour after hour. Nowt wrong with getting kids to play independently and if that means device time then so be it
There were 6 of us and i'd say i interacted with my mam about 20 minutes a day
normally telling me my tea or dinner was ready or given a task and usually getting my name wrong
