Kids Local Footie Cancelled

Statement earlier today from Durham FA was followed up from the bairns’ club saying that training and inter-club friendlies are still going ahead.
We’ve taken the view to pull the boys out until this settles down a bit. The grassroots season should have been delayed until after the schools have sorted themselves out
 


There was a decent-sized group of kids playing at Goals Sunderland last night - along with 20 or so parents (who were all failing to socially distance and not one of whom was wearing a mask).
 
Apparently there's a Durham FA meeting at 5pm with local authorities. Can't see the outcome being anything but a continuation of the postponement of games and possibly even extend it to training sadly, but we'll wait with baited breath.
 
We've been able to play fixtures last 2 week's as been playing teams also from Northumberland, due to play a Gateshead team on Saturday so no idea if it can go ahead.

Apparently the FA and local authorities met last night and didn't come to a decision so are meeting again today with a view to a decision being announced on Wednesday or Thursday.
 
Yeah, it's back on 'with retstrictions'...yet to be announced. Probably one of them will be only one parent allowed to watch from sideline with face mask on or parents to watch from the car for my 12yr old lad's footy i would imagine.
