This season, he will be exactly that. They have strengthened and we seem to be taking their benchwarmer for this season

And ??? Swansea have simply replaced him with better players, that does not make him a bad player, nor does it mean he will not be a very good signing for us

They were using him defensively last season in a lot of games which is not where he will play his best.....this season they've signed someone who can play that role more efficiently and he's not prepared to sit on the bench waiting for Britton to get a knock.

It's clear from Laudrups comments that he has asked to leave, I'd see this as us taking advantage of Swansea not being able to keep players outside the starting 11 happy, especially in a world cup year.

Larsson started 36 games last season for us and he's useless. If he had been a great signing they wouldn't loan him to a rival club. He looks like a better player than Larsson, but I don't think he'll dominate the midfield like we would all want/hope.

Larsson started 36 games for a rank average Premiership side who were very lucky not to get relegated, this lad featured 38 times for a side that finish in a very respectable position in the Premiership and also won a major trophy. Big difference

I do not see him running the show and picking out passes that our front 4 need.

All about opinions but with Cabral providing the muscle that's EXACTLY what I see him doing. Maybe the new fitness regime can bulk him up a bit too.

Just my opinion. We should be signing better to play in the middle of the park.

We are Sunderland, we need to get over ourselfs like, we are lucky not to be in the Championship, this lad is a very good player

Maybe so mate however, as stated previously, I have never been impressed with him. Granted, he has been used more defensively. Hope he proves me wrong and gets involved further up the pitch to chip in with goals and assists however, I have my reservations with the latter

We shall see, it looks like the deal is on.

I think it's likely we have missed out on/won't pay for the players we wanted for that role and Ki will provide a good stop-gap for this season. If he's excellent we will keep him, if not we will send him back and go back in for one of our other targets who may be closer to the end of their contract.

First year of PL.. korean.. and he already had a decent season. He can only improve. I read that Swansea forum.. he has the talent. He lacks confidence, personality. That's gonna be Paolo's job..

Yes, they won 7 points more than us. We're not talking about Spurs or Arsenal here. The big difference between Swansea or WBA and us were the managers and Michu/Lukaku.

Granted, they have had recent success but think to much degrading of our club is being dished out.

Anyways, I don't think the player is all that

All iam doing is stating facts about what Swansea have achieved recently in comparison to us, dismissing them is basically stuff the mags do

It's never ever that easy to keep them. If anything I would rather it was a permanent and we could ensure future development.
