Ki to sign next week

But they want rid of their club record signing after just 12 months......something not right at all about that. It's like us paying £5m for Graham and offloading him for nowt 6 months later......it's because he wasn't that good.
I think its going to be a couple of months until reason kicks in.;) We're still very much in the honeymoon period.

So that's 2 more than Ki got last season and 1 less than Cabral has managed in 180 career appearances. You still haven't seriously suggested where the goals will come from though.
Like I said, you were all for big Tom and he's hardly a goal machine, who would you go for then realisticly?

I have seriously suggested where they will come from. I overstated how many, because you are overstating the opposite case. I reckon we'll score 50+ goals this season

Or maybe we had a clapped out gonk in charge who paid way over the odds for a donkey and we can't afford to have him sat on our bench. They have a clued up manager who's generally bought well. He's brought in a couple of players who play in his position and Ki doesn't fancy sitting on their bench best part of the season. The player may be the one pushing for this move and who knows, he may well decide to keep him. Either way your relentless, unfounded negativity has finally drained the life out of me, I'm out of here.

Gipetto is a fusion of Julio and Dangly Ham[DOUBLEPOST=1377299961][/DOUBLEPOST]

You used the G word, disappointing.

STOP BEING SILLY, LORD ALFRED. YOU'RE BEING SILLY.

I've pointed it out mate...two non scoring CM's and a 1 in 3 main striker coupled with a 1 in 5 2nd striker. That should leave us needing about 25 goals from the rest of the players just to scrape enough to stop up.

Paolo is not looking for more than an occasional goal from central midfield (unless one of them is our free kick taker). He's looking to his wingers supported by fullbacks as our main forward threat.

Giac and AJ will get goals. Whoever takes our free kicks will get goals. Our penalty taker will get goals. Our subs (far more attacking than last season) will get goals - I fancy Karlsonn to nab a few.
Our CBs will weigh in with a few from corners. We'll get some own goals gifted to us.

So how many goals do you want us to score? Would 47 be enough? It got Swansea to 9th place. But of course Wigan also scored 47 and were relegated. Stoke were 13th scoring only 34

Which shows what a pointless line of reasoning this is. Now goals conceded - statistically that's a far better indication of overall form!

I'd rather not comment on how I feel about this situation unless and until he joins SAFC.

Why? Posting an opinion won't make the slightest bit of difference. Presumably you either don't rate him or think we are the wrong place for him?

Fletcher with more service than he's ever had before: 15
Altidore: 10
Giaccherini: 6
Johnson: 6
Sessegnon: 8
Centre halves coming up for set pieces: 6
Flying fullbacks: 4
Cabral: 2
Ki: 2
Ji: 2
Wickham: 3
DMK: 3
Mavrias: 2
69 goals

More realistic

Fletcher 15
Altidore 8
Giaccerini 4
Johnson 5
Sess- 6
Centre Backs- 4
Fullbacks-1
Cabral- 1
Ki-1
Ji-0
Wickham-1
DMK-0
Mavrias-0

Maybe a couple of own goals but youre between 45 and 50. Not 69

It's not like that whatsoever. Graham failed miserably here. Ki was almost an ever present in the best season in their history. They are looking to accommodate Bony, it seems and to play a different way, probably due to having extra European games.
Shelvey has come in, who is more physical, as they were very lightweight in the middle and, seeing as they don't get huge crowds and aren't owned by a billionaire, a couple of big earners have to be moved from the wage bill.
It seems Ki may not have been one of Laudrup's signings - rather agreed before Rodgers' departure, which may explain him being one of them to go.

Him and Laudrup don't see eye to eye apparently, explains it all really.

Good post that

Happy with this. He's an excellent passer and will be able to get the ball out wide quickly and in behind the opposition. A huge improvement on Larsson.

I think Ki will be a good signing if we do get him. I'd be a little worried about the mentality issues that seem to have been highlighted by some Swansea and Celtic fans, why wouldn't I be? But at the same time, I know he's a very capable footballer and is the type we're looking for.

We are going to play him in a more advanced role than he was used at Swansea, he will be expected to get forward a bit more and will be tasked with creating chances. Supported by Cabral, I think he'll do well. Should be a good partnership, and he's definitely a better fit than Larsson in that position.
