Ki not starting at Wembley

I'd be surprised if he doesn't start, and a tad disappointed anarl  but lets just wait and see ;)

He will start surely. It's a big pitch and he's the only one who looks to bring it forward.

Wasn't there a thread on here about Ki's missus going back to Korea and his marbles are all over the place, hence is loss of form? if this is the case drop for me, need 11 fully focused players on Sunday, sorry make that 10 as Altidore will be the first name on the team sheet  In Gus I trust HAWAY HAWAY HAWAY City 0 Sunderland 1

If there's any truth in this (and I don't usually believe pixellated teenagers), I don't think it's especially bad news.

Ki has the ability to change games coming on as a sub. It's possible that Poyet might be thinking of having a go in the first half, then shoring things up thereafter. Or else frustrating them early doors, and introducing a higher tempo passing style as the game starts to get stretched.

To be City we either need them to be shite, or take a few gambles.
Exactly what I was thinking. No idea if true but I guess the players get an idea by now if they will be starting going by how their training is set up. I would be surprised but Gus isn't one to play players simply on their credentials. He plays the opposition which has worked on more occasions than it has failed.

If Ki were to start on the bench then I woul ld expect a tight, hard working first hour with the tactic simply being to still be in the game. Then as they start to open up getting men forward more we can counter that by bringing on Ki who is more adept at opening teams up through his passing and supporting attackers on counter plays.

There's every chance one of the so called hard workers will fuck up, get sent off or give the ball away but Gus can't account for that.

Its exactly the same size as our pitch as was pointed out to me the other day on here. Amazing isnt it. I swear it was bigger. Hope he starts for the record

Really?

I always thought it was bigger I know City have 3 training pitches to match the dimensions of other pitches and Wembley is one of those.

lol if that happens then cool ill log off till after the final then ppl can come on and apologise for abusing me after they see the team. thats cool.

That is exactly the way to do it and not bite, btw he has been invisible for a fair few games now so it wouldn't be the biggest shock.[DOUBLEPOST=1393524455][/DOUBLEPOST]
Everyone knows cattermole is going to start with bridcutt

Only if they start in the bar, cup tied for at least the millionth time

Everyone always says on a big wembley pitch on the telly and i always thought it looked bigger. I bet the commentators even say tired legs on this big Wembley pitch but according to some smart arse on here and wiki when I checked then exact size apparently. Havent looked into whether the old Wembley was bigger mind

Really annoyed at this and ruins the final a bit for me.

I hope the team still wins as know how much it means to sunderland who is a great club and he can do a job from the subs area perhaps.
It's utter bollocks.
Why come out with this spittle before our biggest games in years?
Ridiculous.

If true, we're going for the work rate of Colback and Larsson.
Can't see it happening like.

When I cast my mind back over the wins against Man City (and the 3-3 draw) Larsson stands out as someone who has constantly been important to us in those matches. Not sure I would drop Ki, but if Larsson will replace him then maybe it is because of his history in these ties.

He's not my favorite player but he does work very, very hard in games like this. His nuisance factor is important, we've been missing someone with the experience/attitude to put pressure on the ref for years, the successful clubs have multiple players who do this.....then when someone takes up that job they get abuse for "moaning" and out supporters want them to just get on with it. Weird f***ing bunch safc fans like.

I'm not sure why people hate him so much, we have far worse players in the same position.

I f***ing knew it, every big big game we lose our best player to something. There was a sweepstake thread last week.

(If true of course)

You don't say

This surprises me, thought he was a shoe in.
Gus might feel he is a luxury we cannot afford in the final with his switching off tendencies.
someone was on the radio the other day going on about him, he had about 20 games for swansea then his form dropped like fuck & that's why the loaned him out, how many games had he had for us now?[DOUBLEPOST=1393525820][/DOUBLEPOST]
Also this like. Think the ops full of shit. Team will be told in hotel on sat night...
:lol::lol:

I don't know if this is true or not, but:

Ki's form hasn't been great in recent weeks, for whatever reason, he's been a bit sloppy and hasn't looked as hungry for the ball.

Even at his best, he's not great when we don't have the ball... he's not great defensively, maybe a bit lazy. When he does try, he can be good in this area... even if he's not as committed as Catts or Colback.

But, even still, he has a calmness about him... he rarely loses the ball, he's able to go past a man, he can shoot. He should be our key player. We need him in the middle, demanding the ball, and then using it well... keeping us ticking over. Neither Catts nor Colback nor Larsson, and certainly Gardner can do this as well as him. They have other areas they might be stronger in, but he's the one who does that best.

On form, he's our best midfielder... off-form, can we carry him against City?
