Why does anyone give a fuck anymore?

He was superb for England. But he's playing hit and giggle cricket wherever will pay him most

Ship sailed at the same time as the titanic

Don't why people call it hit and giggle cricket, as it's highly skilfull, highly watched, high entainment, and highly talented players on show, not to mention highly paid (especially in the IPL) the only people giggling are people like Stokes making a fortune for a 2 month stint.

It's not hit and giggle anymore it's big business sport.

As for KP wanker! always has been always will be.

Two peas in a pod. ;)
As a spectator I fail to see what's not to like, he's been probably the most brilliant and exhilarating player we've ever had. Root will become our greatest player and is also fantastic but for pure box office KP trumps them all. Never understood why spectators get so upset over wether he's a bellend in dressing room or not as we aren't part of it.

I think a certain I T Botham might trump him for most exhilarating player mind!

Big KP fan. He says he won't rule out playing for South Africa at the 2019 World Cup. That would be a sight to see! I hope it happens. It would actually be ironic if he broke their big tournament hoodoo.

Ya right IT certainly trumps him.

No thanks

I go to quite a few a year, costs me a lot of hard earned money, I wouldn't pay money to see him. He a scumbag. Good riddance
What a ridiculous comment.

KP is arrogant, brash, confident etc and there's a certain amount of the British population who are very sceptical of those traits. It seems some prefer the gallant loser, stiff upper lip and all that shite. KP was box office and a genuine world class player who helped us achieve great success in test arena (no.1 in world) and was player of tournament in our only world trophy win to date. Nobody can take that away from him.

People who think KP should be in the test side based on one t20 on a pitch that's probably been Taylor made for him are what's wrong with Cricket.
Who are these people? Get them named.

It's not. He's a bully, and not a very nice person. I don't want anything to do with him

Much prefer the humble nature of world class talents like Root, Stokes and Bairstow

Each to their own though

The fact that quite a few of his team mates and management wanted rid of him despite his talents and match winning ability, says everything about the type of bloke and character he is.

Why would any captain want rid of a player who could win him games and in turn increase his own popularity, yet that is exactly what happened to KP. That tells a massive story to me.

In sport the team is always bigger than one individual!!!

Depends on the captain. Michael Vaughan had no such problems and neither have quite a few others who have played with him either. KP has an ego of that there is no doubt and it's also clear he's rubbed quite a few up the wrong way. It's interesting though that a lot of his gripes with England in terms of workload, availibity for IPL etc have all been looked at since his demise. We've even had our ODI skipper missing internationals in order to play in it. Perhaps the lad had a point at times.......

A bully? Really? Of course KP was never the victim of any 'bullying'.
The humble nature of Stokes? Hasn't he been in bother in past for his behaviour?
Why do you care what their personalities are like? You aren't in a dressing room with them or socialising you're watching them perform and if they're performing then why care about anything else as a spectator? Obviously if they're doing an Adam Johnson then lines have to be drawn to a bit of handbags in a dressing room means fuck all!

No issue with that at all, in fact it was the one thing I agreed with him about.

I am a massive T20 fan and contrary to a lot of here think the IPL is a fantastic competition and our best players should be able to play in it.

I hate the whole sometimes snobbery way T20 is looked out, not proper cricket bullshit for example.

Is whole career a fall out with counties etc,
No fall out with Surrey. He's welcomed back their with open arms from one of the most passionate and respected cricketers to ever wear the 3 lions.

Complete nonsense

You can't defend the bloke. From trying to get his coach sacked, to texting the opposition telling them how to get his captain out, to writing a book personally attaching all his team mates

When does it stop

f***ing hell man telling people how to get Strauss out! What a revelation that must've been!
He was pissed off and shouldn't have done it but the same test he scored one of best hundreds ive seen scored. If I was his captain he could call me what he wanted if he could do that for me!
The book came out when he thought his time was up as well. Likes of flintoff, Vaughan, Gough, Warne, Alec Stewart have had no issues with the bloke. He was a very frustrated bloke with what he believes was a poor way to treat its best players who had opportunities to play in a massive competition and earn good money. Thankfully that seems to have been looked at now so as much said it seems he had a point.

I honestly think if you on a long tour which happens regular at international level, it is extremely disruptive to have a bad apple in the camp as you living in each other's pockets day in day out.

Maybe that's because he's only with the team for 40 overs a game:D

Don't have to put up with his shit for long!!
Id still like to know what shit? If he's being a nob just tell him to fuck off, there's plenty others in the team to chat to.
He had a pop at Strauss to his mates, do people really think that he's the only player in history of game to do this? Do you not think Botham will have been slating the establishment to Viv and Joel when it was unravelling for him in the Caribbean?
As I've always said there was a lot of jealousy about KP as he was bod office, the one going for big money in IPL auctions whilst others were shunned. Couple that with his ego and what was at the time his demands for unprecedented leeway (no longer unprecedented interestingly) and it was always going to ruffle feathers.

Would be interesting if he ever did turn out for South Africa, they might insist his three lions tattoo is covered up.

Great batsman, ego the size of Table Top Mountain though. Mind I don't think other parties were exactly blameless in the breakdown of his relationship with the England team.

He was on talksport earlier tonight. Talking to goughy.
Said he can watch a batsmen for 5 minutes and know if he's 'got it' or not. Suggested both England's current 2 and 3 haven't 'got it' and will never have it.
Suggested Malan and (can't remember name) do have it and could entertain for next 10 years.

He also said James Taylor didn't have it, I think he would have been proved hugely wrong there had fate not intervened.

He's a gobshite and irrelevant now.

All cricket teams have their bellends in them. No team I've played in didn't have at least 1. And at an international level, England have had Trueman, Boycott, Cork, Swann etc. As a captain and a team, you have to put up with this as long as you can if they're talented enough. When you captain a side, you are very lucky if everyone are good mates and nothing bad happens.

I've met KP. I know people who have employed him, and people who have played with him on the franchise circuit.

Obviously, the people within the English setup had massive problems with him. That said - the global franchise types have nothing but glowing reviews - players and management alike. He's a fun-loving character, who cares about winning and helping his teammates. I could see how he wouldn't suffer fools, to his own detriment at times.

He also cares about getting paid, drinking, and playing golf. Can't say I'd be any different.

He played for England for a decade.

They weren't best mates

Then he started to become more hassle than he is worth. Simple
