Did he explain why he refused to do his summer exercise routine bullshitting that his heart rate monitor wasnt working, didn’t contact safc to tell them so they couldn’t send a new one, thus turned up for preseason overweight and way way off the fitness levels of the rest of the squad?
He wanted to be a footballer not BE a footballer. Fuck him. Another in a long line of piss take party boys.

Spot on. There’s an explanation why anarl marra.
Is that the same summer we went to the Amsterdam tournament where he was immense and looked fitter than he had done in ages? I would have happily started that season without signing Darren Bent because frankly Jones upfront with Richardson playing off him looked a bloody good prospect.

What a stupid thing to say.

One of the best strikers we've had in the top division.

What's the truth? That Steve Bruce didn't fancy him and that Niall Quinn would gladly sell his own mother if somebody was willing to cough enough money up?
Well loads of competition in that area 😂😂

Deflection.
Ive not listened to the podcast. I’ve as much interest in him as I have in astrophysics. BUT I’d like safc fans who are interested in him to know the truth. You obviously don’t. Care to explain why?

ES decided safc had to start washing its face. Anyone who could make that happen instantly became available.
Yes. I'm part of a huge cover up.
Great podcast interview really enjoyed it keep up the good work. Can’t wait for the next one just subscribed aswell to keep up to date
Thanks mate. Hoping to have a few out over the next few weeks. Feel free to listen to the back catalogue too.

Listened to the 2nd half of it today, Bruce is a total bastard mind. We knew of the interest Liverpool had the first time but I can't recall them coming in for him before he went to Stoke. Shocking that he fecked Kenwyne off through spite, as a player you only get a chance or two to go to the biggest teams and you don't need your own manager or board messing with it, end of the day Bruce didn't even start Kenwyne for what ever reason.

Love him saying "I wouldn't recommend Bruce to anyone", really honest and to the point pod, not trying to score points with our fans. Just seems like a bloke telling his side of what went down. Would love you to get him back on @MackeminGlasgow, could listen to him talk footy all day.

No apologies needed - keep them coming.
Thanks mate. Anyone you'd like to hear from?

I'd really love him back on. Yeah, he didn't pander, he openly admitted he was gutted he didnt get the move to Liverpool and articulated it well.

Eh? What’s Henderson got to do with owt? His mother had him doing extra fitness when he was 16(she actually dragged him to her circuits class that I used to go to at silky centre) to give him the best chance he had of making it.
kenwyne Jones was an absolute beast in that first season, injury knocked him out his rhythm but he’s still up there with Quinny, Phillips, bent and Defoe for me as the best strikers we’ve had. His attitude was 100x better than that arsehole Gyan too.
Spot on mate really enjoyed watching him play for us. Since Reidy went there's been maybe half a dozen players who I really enjoyed watching play and he was one of them.

Really enjoyed the podcasts bud. Although some knacker of a liverpool fan rang talksport last week saying they wanted klopp sacking, so you can’t please everyone
Surely bent would be interested to do a show with ya seems though he’s doing media these days. Be good to find out what really happened behind the scenes as I’ve never seen a player look so deflated at an unveiling as he was at that Aston Villa press conference when he’d signed for them.

I've asked him and he said no sadly. There's a few that turn them down.

"Next time someone does a podcast...",comment. I wont be an arsehole to people, calling them lazy, when theyve given up time to speak with me AND especially when I disagree with the comment 100% to keep you happy. That's not how interviews work.

Kenwyne was a cracking player for us. Liverpool came in for him twice. Football is small circles. You think theyd have heard if he was a bad apple.

They did sign Andy Carrol

Apoligies for sharing my stuff again, but figured plenty people would like to hear this.

Strong opinions on Keane and Bruce, great insight and, I must admit, he suprised me at how honest he was about stuff.

Good sense of humour too and, on his day, one of the best I've seen in red and white.

On his day he was an absolute beast for us. It’s good to hear his side of the story re Bruce. Excellent mate. Thanks.

Gone through a few now @MackeminGlasgow Just finished the Jon Stead one which I enjoyed. For a couple of years now I’ve actually sort of forgiven him for his time here. I don’t think it was ever a case of him not trying or wanting to be here but like he says, sometimes it just doesn’t work for certain players at some football clubs. Watched out for him and whatever club he’s playing for at the time for about 5 or 6 year now and I always want him/them to be doing well.

Think it’s the Charlie Oatway or McGeoucgh one next. Keep up the good work!

Imagine he can be a brilliant man-manager when it comes to British lads with a bit of an old-school mentality about them but the way he treated certain players who he viewed as being 'different' was disgraceful at times. Jones and Malbranque in particular stand out and pretty sure that Angeleri said that Bruce was the worst person he'd ever encountered in football.

Just reminded me of one incident when the ball was launched upfield and Jones very obviously knowing that he was offside didn't waste any energy in going after it and that fat knacker on the touchline was going berserk at him.
Bang on. Bruce was part of the Man United dressing room with Bryan Robson, Keane, Ince, Hughes, Pallister, etc, lads who worked hard and played hard. Always said he favoured the old school British lads who he could relate to who liked a pint and put a shift in - Bardsley, Cattermole, Bramble, Meyler, etc, plus the odd maverick foreigner like Gyan and Saint-Maximan as I think he sees a bit of Cantona in them. He can't seem to handle anyone who is a bit different and his treatment of Jones and Malbranque was disgraceful. He wouldn't get away with some of the comments he made about them in the press and at fans nights in today's society - remember him saying Malbranque just sat in the corner not knowing what was going on just muttering the occasional 'Que' like Manuel from Fawlty Towers and Jones being so laid back because he was Caribbean. People laughed at the time because we were doing well but it didn't sit right with me, had a bit of a nasty undertone to it.
