I felt exactly the same. I interviewed Asamoah Gyan a few years back and expected maybe vagueish answers where I may have had to push...but big Kenwyne was very intellectual and saw situations in a very clever way I thought. Top top bloke.glad I listened to that as it was unexpected . Blunt and straight talking, but also more perceptive than i expected... i like characters who can sit back and see the bigger picture as situations unfold.
thanks for putting it together
We had a bit of a natter before hand and he thinks it was probably his best time in football.Glad he seems to appreciate how much we enjoyed having him here!
They both probably got on like a house on fire even though they are polar opposites, Keane very intense and Kenwyne gives the impression he is so laid back he is virtually horizontal. Loved his time here and watching Keanes team play, not the best but always went out and gave 100%, probably my best time watching Sunderland (even better than Reidy's time IMO).Love the bit 5:02 in where he talks about how Keano used to tease him about not being fast even though his long legs gave the impression of speed. Vindication at last. Good lad is Kenwyne.
Jones and Cisse Blackburn away. What a great away game that was. Turned it on it's head after half time. Great days.
Thanks mate! Pleased to get him on board. Tried to get Parky on this week...now that would be interesting. Sadly, won't happen.Another top pod
I'm lucky I have a decent memory when it comes to Sunderland, that helps. But thanks for recognising it mate. Thanks for doing the pod. It must take you a while to prepare all those questions. Fantastic listen and brings back some good memories.
Its enjoyable to do them, but it drives me nuts the amount of people who know the club has been fucked for years.Class listen that(went on to listen to big micks and poyets). One thing that’s seems constant is they all raised problems that the fans knew about at the time and still do now.
So why the hell do the fuckers in charge(one useless lot replace another) seem oblivious how to run the club correctly?
Don’t bother! Let’s forget he was ever at Sunderland. Thanks mate! Pleased to get him on board. Tried to get Parky on this week...now that would be interesting. Sadly, won't happen.
Julio was good, how about Rowell or McCoist for future? Its enjoyable to do them, but it drives me nuts the amount of people who know the club has been fucked for years.
Out of curiosity, which did you enjoy the most?

Bruce was a right twat like.
Think it was a case of 'time ran out'.Imagine he can be a brilliant man-manager when it comes to British lads with a bit of an old-school mentality about them but the way he treated certain players who he viewed as being 'different' was disgraceful at times. Jones and Malbranque in particular stand out and pretty sure that Angeleri said that Bruce was the worst person he'd ever encountered in football.
Just reminded me of one incident when the ball was launched upfield and Jones very obviously knowing that he was offside didn't waste any energy in going after it and that fat knacker on the touchline was going berserk at him.
