Keep Bain Out Of It

Total flop at Bristol city iirc
Not total flop. Had a very positive short term impact in saving them first season then really struggled the season after but had arguably the two best players from his side sold Bolasie and Pittman. Still don't want him here mind you but there is far worse names been mentioned.

Nowt to do with Rangers' well documented struggles as a club then eh?
Probably not considering the rescources he was given to get them back up. He managed to blow a 15 point lead on Celtic in his only SPL season. They were signing players from the SPL after their relegations and unsurprisingly they walked the first pub league. As soon as they reached the scottish championship he struggled.

Rangers philosophy was spend twice as much as anybody else on players and they'd do well. That's a big part of the reason they ended up in the shit.

Absolute rubbish from the berk of an OP once again.
Why do you think Bain has the skill set needed to pick a good manager?

Yes, let's appoint a CEO with experience of running a football club but preclude him from selecting the man who manages the football team

He was brought in to cut costs not advise on footballing matters.

Yeah, course he was.

I suppose you were in the interview and have read his terms of employment too, have you?

No, why else do football clubs employ Chief Executive Officers, I mean if you have someone in charge of running a football club why the fuck would they care about the people it employs?

Take care of off field business thats why some clubs have directors of football and managers and coaches.

Saved them from relegation one season then sacked the next with them 8 points adrift. Has done well with 2 Scottish clubs like but surely we should be going for someone with a better track record in the English leagues

Did Bain pick Paul le Guen for Rangers? An inspired choice that like

Butcher has done well with two Scottish clubs. No way should that be a yardstick

The fact Bain has turned to Smith for advice shows he is not qualified to pick the next manager and I very much doubt he picked managers at Rangers either.
