Longer video from the other day of the first section of the footbridge with some added SOL sunrise. I'll have to go back now they've added another bit.😂

Not sure I've seen this being asked anywhere at all but will how will the bridge cope/manage with being full on a match day? Will it be one way, will it be limited?. Can't think of a footbridge that skinny being absolutely bottlenecked. I suspect the engineers know what they are doing but sure it being absolutely full won't be a good idea

It won’t. Designed to collapse with more than 50 on it. But that’s part of the excitement that’s building in the city about this.

Iirc the deck is 10m wide so plenty of capacity, though there will be a bottle neck, people just need to be sensible. Wouldn't fancy walking against the tide on match day though

It’s going to be 10 metres wide, that’s wider than the span of the section of Wearmouth Bridge we currently walk on and that manages okay. In fact it’s wider than the extended post match span as well when they close a couple of lanes.

I'd posted this earlier in the thread
And @Sporty comments below mine.

Class to see the SoL in all its glory.

I've always thought the main stand should have been the east stand but finally it's in the limelight with these new developments
