Karndean - glued or clicked?

Anyone on here an expert in flooring?

Our Maude has decided she wants this stuff laid in the hallway and the lads who we’ve got a quote from have said they can either glue it together or use the click together version. They reckon there’s no difference but my spidey senses are tingling.

Anyone?

I have a strong opinion on this, but would need a picture of Maude and the hallway (stripped naked) to inform you about the only right choice

All Karndean is glued innit?. We've got it in our vast hall in our Royal Ashbrooke Victorian Gentleman's Residence and it's been class to be fair. Not cheap mind.

We had Karndean in our old house and it was glued. Looked excellent but was pricey. They came one day and screeded the floor then came back the next day to lay it. No idea if there was a clicked version available at the time.

Lasts forever if you look after it though.

I was quoted 95 a m2 for supply and fit, with all the prep. Is that too much or about right?

I struggled to find an independent fitter at the time and got ours through a shop.
I reckon that will have been somewhere around what we paid.

It was probably 100% more than what I paid for other rooms 10 years ago.

I had some replaced recently, it had discoloured at the side door due to a combination of the mat, sunshine (UV) or water.
The bloke glued the new stuff down.

Been looking at this myself recently too. I think if you want any of the borders or pin stripe edges etc you have to go with the glued route (from the research I’ve done so far).

Check out Amtico, Tarket and Moduleo too

For the Howdens gear ?loads of money

For the Kardean it’s about right

Think it was this gear

Don't quite understand how the Karndean brand has convinced everyone to pay 3 times the price of all the other LVT flooring. Its like Karndean is a different product that only they sell, its nonsense.

Put a load of the click stuff down myself a couple of years ago. Took 2 days to do a large L shaped living / dining room, including putting ply over the floorboards to get it (close to) perfectly flat and level. Then the next weekend we did the porch and hallway. 55sqm in total
2 years later, not a single problem with it, its spot on.

Hardest part is cutting to size, the top is so hard its very difficult to get the blade through it - using the score and snap method to get the cleanest possible edge.

Mine was about the same price. Plus underlay and ply of course. About £40 sqm in the end, I'd say. Plus the savings on labour, of course. I'm sure a pro would have done all mine in 2 days rather than 2 of us taking 4 days.
