I think it says more about the state of German football currently. Used to roll out big centre forwards like they do cars. Sadly (as that rare thing, a fan of the German game) not anymore. Have to "pinch" ours

Maybe in ancient history, last time the top scorer in the League was German must be 10 years ago and maybe 5 seasons in the last 25

There’s a bit of England-centric view of football. He’ll almost certainly win the Bundesliga, go deep in the Champions League every season and be playing in front of loud and passionate 50k-80k crowds almost every week. He’ll also earn fortunes living in a brilliant part of the world.

Bayern get a world class striker and Spurs make excellent money also. Looks a good move all round.
