This.
We were pretty dire for the most part but that petulant we want the moon on a stick attitude that exists with fans now didn't really seem to then. There was a hardcore 13-15k that pretty much went regardless. What's served up now is like caviar compared to the tripe we got then but there wasn't half as much twisting I know that.
And I promise you,I was first in every week,roughly 12/13 when I started going with a friend,that became home and away Whithin a few years

Yes 40,000+ have been turning up recently because we "want the moon a stick".

Not one person who actually knows me thinks I don't go to games. I don't go to them all but usually get to around a dozen a season. Last season I only got to 4 as my old man wasn't 100% so I watched games on a stream with him.
I've stood at roker in crowds as low as 6-7k in Anglo Italian cups, I was there in the seasons leading up to our new stadium move when we regularly had crowds of 12,13,14k which miraculously trebled when moved to a nice new stadium. It's a fair bet quite a few having a pop at my support wouldn't sully their shoes standing on the terraces of Roker.

We also used to get crowds of 60k+ too.

What does that prove? :lol: I could post a picture of me at Roker park if you like!! I know you like posting pics n that :lol:;)
It indicates you haven't really got much to say in the grand old ground.
Doesn't prove you didn't go but then again you can't prove I don't go over the stadium now and it doesn't stop you trying.;)

On a lighter note gents,I've just read on a toon forum that it's killing us how well they've taken relegation :lol::lol: truley truley delusional..as sad as it is visiting other clubs forums it was funny to read
Ps i promise not to visit there again

among others, this quote gave me goosebumps -

" there are no words to describe them any more. Sunderland fans are unreal. The fans won us that game (Chelsea), it is as simple as that.......without them we couldn't win"

:cool::cool::cool:
and yet people keep saying the crowd doesn't make a difference (good or bad) - positivity and encouragement can give anyone a lift :)
