Kaboul in Legion of Light

It's hard for us marra with the club being in debt. The risk is we go and get a few 5m players in from France and they flop. But thats the risk every club takes when signing a player. I suppose this season is our opportunity to try and get back on an even keel financially whilst also becoming more competitive
I can't argue with any of that fella. It probably will be nearer four but Sam likes a freebie so I would expect a couple in providing they have the quality. Problem is every other club has the same idea. Anyhow we have a good core of players to build on.

Fair play there Jards ;) - now what will your prediction be for the forthcoming season. I'm going to throw caution to the wind and allow myself the luxury of believing we are starting to turn the corner. Using your template of 5 places, I'm going for 10th to 15th. I might regret this bullishness:oops:;)
I'll go 14th to 17th with present squad. Don't think we'd go down under big Sam. Quality manager. With a few decent additions I think we could be nearer that mid table mark maxi.

I'll adjust mine to 4 places then. 12th to 15th - I'm expecting a good window and greater things.

Hopefully the whingers and early-leavers now realise that our support does make a difference to the players. Fill the stadium, stay til the end and get behind the players.
In other words, like the players, we need to show some consistency.

No idea but it can't be denied we absolutely lap it up though.

You are someone who has a very individual take on life - and what I think you believe is super realism comes across to me as carping to the point of cynicism.
There are many reasons to support a club like ours, personally for me it is all about the odd glimmers of joy that following the Lads gives me. That and they are deep within my dna but for you? What possibly joy do you get when everything is so reduced to the point you seem to take it to?

I wasn't at all happy when Kaboul was signed, the earthquake quote that his agent made when we had previously tried to sign him was ringing in my ears. Here's a fuckin' mercenary if ever there was one, I thought.

But I have to say that the way the guy has applied himself and turned in great performances has won me over. Kaboul's partnership with Kone was one of the highlights of the back end of last season and played a huge part in our Premiership survival, engineered by Big Sam, of course. Kaboul appears to have got what our club is all about and that is good news. Would love to here that he has told his agent to shut the fuck up in future.

Picked up a great story about football agents the other day, how I've missed over the years I don't know. Cloughie at his finest. There only used to be one agent, James Bond, and he fucked women, not football clubs.

Nothing our fans love more than having their ego fluffed by the players.
An average player like Borini is worshipped because he fluffs the fans on twitter and has a quirky little celebration.
Providing the players do business on pitch which I think Kaboul did in main when he got a run of games in that's all I care about.
However I'll leave everyone to bask in the little pat on back. ;)
Have a day off will ya. I actually think you talk sense sometimes but dear me I've never known a more perpetually negative person. Many players who have no connection with the club comment on the impact of the fans and form a life long affnity with the club and the area but you would rather have little digs at all things SAFC.

He was our best player against Everton. He got us going with his tackles and Benno style charges out of defence. Been superb since he was fully fit.

I wish that shot had gone in :)

What about his run and cross for Fletcher against The Relegatin Champions?

Do yourself a favour and put him on ignore. It makes the board such a better place.

It's not just out fans its all fans in general who like praise from players

I got the impression Kaboul's tears may have been caused by a little regret that he never joined us the first time he was asked, I'm sure it would have croosed his mind that night.

Ya bugger man, Teed is still around.

His agent was responsible for him not signing for us when we first went in for him. It must be great to have someone to look after your affairs whilst you live the life of Riley. But, maybe there are times when you have to remind your agent who really brings the corn home.

;) Alreet Corvus.

Think if we can get 2-3 wins under our belt by the end of September finishing 12/13th is probably very likely. Can't see us getting 10th because it would need a massive squad overhaul and don't think we'll do that this year

At least he's not obsessed with fluffing the fans like you are with tearing them down at every opportunity.

He is definitely not an "average" p!ayer. Quite the opposite actually. He is capable of the odd howler- much, much reduced since he eturned from injury- but otherwise he has been outstanding. He is quick, good in the air and a good tackler and occasionally a threat in the box.

He is not perfect or he would not be here but the contention that he is average is absurd and the fact that he happens to say complimentary things about his own supporters should obviously not be held against him. Perhaps it would be better if refused the interview or was openly hostile or indifferent?

Supporting the club is very much within my DNA as well however my interest in the club comes down to what happens on the pitch, I have no interest in what happens in the stands other than when I feel they are having a negative impact on things which can happen.
My joy comes from picking up 3 points on a Saturday, hoping upon hope for good cup draws and the potential of a trip to wembley, derby days (obviously on hold for a while) and the hope of a exciting signing.
Players come and go and I don't get the whole adoration some recieve, providing they do a good job on pitch I have zero interest in anything else. I have no issue with a lad like Darren Bent as he was great value for us and left for a substantial pay rise which we'd all do if we're honest. It was disappointing to lose him but that's life.

I said Borini was average not Kaboul. Kaboul is a good prem league centre half if can steer clear of injuries
